Am I the only one who isn't that keen on any of the players rumoured to be avaialble? It's no wonder there aren't many trades these days...

Well that slipped under the radar.
Not everybody is up to date with every transaction. And I'm usually pretty good with that. Too bad.
Edit: Ah, and makes sense as I was away on a Banff retreat at the time.

But if it took Bennett+, would BT do it? Bennett + 1st + Kylington?
Just tossing around ideas..

Kucherov? Not a chance. He's probably more valuable to that franchise than Stamkos is.

Apparently Garrioch told an Ottawa radio station that Dorion has a 2nd for Lazar offer on the table, but is holding out for a 1st.

According to Larry Brooks, Blues trying to rope Rangers, Pens, and Caps into bidding war for Shattenkirk
http://nypost.com/2017/02/27/blues-t...k-bidding-war/
Quote:
The Rangers remain in on the Kevin Shattenkirk sweepstakes but remain reluctant to meet the Blues’ asking price for the pending free-agent defenseman, multiple sources have told The Post.
One well-placed source reports that St. Louis general manager Doug Armstrong is attempting to ratchet up a bidding war between the Blueshirts, Penguins and Caps for the right to rent the 28-year-old righty whose acquisition could tip the balance of power within the Metro Division. The Oilers and Bruins, if not the Maple Leafs, also are believed to have interest in Shattenkirk.
It is unknown whether general manager Jeff Gorton would be willing to yield his club’s first-rounder as part of a package to get the defenseman who presumably would become Ryan McDonagh’s first-pair partner as well as the power play’s point man, but the Blueshirts remain steadfast in their unwillingness to deal away a young top-nine forward. Pavel Buchnevich would fit under that umbrella. Brady Skjei is off limits. And the Rangers at this point are believed to have no interest in including defenseman Sean Day, the 2016 third-rounder, who has had a very good season for OHL Windsor, as part of a deal to bring back Shattenkirk.

With 56 points in 54 games, there's only 6 players with a higher PPG than Kucherov this year. And he's making under 5M. Yeah, Tampa's not going to give him up for Bennett...

Could put the Caps over the top. Who knows, maybe this is the year they finally don't suck in the playoffs? I'd love to see Ovi win.

Johnson would be a great add from Tampa if Bennett would slide to the wing. Flames could probably afford him long term if they could dump Brouwer
Jankowski, 1st, Hickey?
Rather not give up Jankowski and one of Andersen or Kylington. With Johnson being a centre I would be okay with trading Jankowski. Downside is trading a 22 year old 6'4 C for a 5'10 C but at least Johnson is a good 2 way player and very clutch in the playoffs

I very much doubt the Flames are going after a 5'8" centre in Johnson. If they're spending assets like that, I'd be it's much more likely they're going to go after someone like Landeskog.

I knew Johnson was small but didn't realize he is smaller than Johnny. You are right I agree the Flames won't pursue him

Craig Button on 770 says Patrick Sharp would be a great fit for the Flames. He can play point on PP. LW or RW. Can play with all types of players and is smart. Thinks he would be a great fit with Gaudreau and Monahan.
He also has the added bonus of playoff experience and knows what it takes to win.

Yes please to Patrick Sharp. Switch him and Versteeg on the pp, preferably on the second pp unit and let Hamilton play the first unit.

We are seriously going after any and all ex-blackhawks aren't we? Lol might as well also go after Ladd and Byfuglien.
