Studs ftw again. I couldn't see the ice in the morning with the dusting. Almost crashed again in the same place.

Legs felt like lead today. 4th consecutive day combined with hockey practice last night has left me drained. The street was bare and dry when I rode in this morning.

10 days since my last ride, this morning I was feeling it for sure. Still great to be back out there, thinking I'll be happy to have the studs for the ride home.

First day not riding since the big snow fall. Had to drop my kitty off to get "fixed" and need to pick her up after, so I actually drove downtown! Weird! Surprisingly found all day parking for $12.

I got a call yesterday from my surgeon's office and I'll have my consult on March 7th. Hopefully my knee surgery will follow shortly after and I can get back on my bikes. It's been too long since I've felt the touch of spandex on my body.

Ok can I call BS on the original forecast (from this morning)? No way I would have gone out if this was being forecast. I'd have waited for next week.

Pathways are rough. Mostly snow, footprints drifted over. Fresh pow from 64th north on Nose Creek pathway. New record for slowest ride home.

Yeah I actually quite enjoyed about 80% of the ride home. When you could ride the powder it was awesome. Once you hit the pathways that were packed down it was the roughness like habernac mentions.

Dropped my Thunderbolt off at Cyclepath south today. Getting bearing kits installed in the pivot points and a volume spacer in the rear shock.
When this is done, I will get them to help me ensure my suspension is dialled in for my phat a$$.
Mulling over installing a new smaller front ring to get a little more range out of the current rear cluster
This rig will be ready to roll in March or April whenever the trails are open.

I'm taking the Weekend Comprehensive Repair Course: Modules ABC&D at the University of Calgary this weekend. All day Saturday and Sunday.
I can change a tire/tube and and make minor adjustments but I'd like to be more proficient and prefer to be taught by an expert and using my own bike, than YouTube videos.

I need to get my bike down to them. Bought it there. The kid tried riding it down the mountain from Takkakaw in October and took a corner too fast and piled it up. Completely munched my front wheel. Going to need to replace it so I can get back on the bike this year. Broke my butt a year ago at Christmas so did very little riding last season which royally pissed me off. I really want to get back on the bike this season. Miss getting out on the trails.

Seriously, #### all of you drivers who pull up behind cyclists and honk. I'm in a residential area 4 blocks from home. Really tough to suppress the urge to punch the drivers side windows out of these vehicles. Yes, I do belong here. #### you.

I took this last year, was a great course. Lots more confidence when I do things to my bike now.

Haha, yup, one day for me, too. I did take the $20 MEC derailleur adjustment course a few years ago that got me started. Walked out after with a repair stand and some tools. There's not much on a bike I haven't done, but I suspect it takes me a lot longer than it'll take you after the course!! Let us know how you like it!!

The class is great so far.
They provide all the tools and you use your own bike. Today was the basics. Tube and chain repair and replace. Shifter and derailleur replacement and adjustments. Brakes (mechanical and hydraulic and disc). New cable install and troubleshooting.
Tomorrow we take apart the crankset and learn how to fix spokes and do wheel truing. For $210 it's well worth it. I've learned more about my bike in one day than I have in years of riding and fiddling in the garage.
I think I lucked out as there are 4 of us in the class. It can be up to 10 people. So the instructor was able to give each of us more attention. 2 road bikes (rim brakes), 1 road disc (me) and one mountain bike (rim), who was the new bike security lead at the U of C.
I've also discovered how crappy I've been treating my bike. The day starts with some basic cleaning skills. As dumb as that sounds, you find out how dirty your bike really gets and how you really should be taking care of it.
Also, 20% off all parts and tools for participants means they get a little more of my money tomorrow.
