Why does the everyone in the media say "just give Gaudreau the money"?
No, I want Treliving to get Johnny on the best cap-friendly deal possible. This is a big contract, and will have a large impact on future cap space.
I couldn't care less if Johnny is very very rich, or just very rich. Just don't piss Johnny off too much, or trade like (like Colorado).
Treliving shouldn't even begin to budge, unless Johnny starts to ask for less than 8 million. I know this is just speculation, but still.

It's good to know that the only source for the $8 million ask is Francis so it is probably total BS. My guess he is asking for something close to $7.5 and the Flames around $6.75. I suspect it will be $7.25 x 7yrs. Maybe $6.75 x 6yrs.

Darn, I wish Jay Feaster was GM on another team.
He would of issued a Offer Sheet and we would of got a free draft pick!

Looks like this is all based off the garbage Francis spewed. My horoscope is likely more accurate.

He'd be too busy drafting his own Gaudreau

I hope that Treliving is calling every day just like he was hounding another GM for a trade. Even if his position doesn't move, he should be in constant contact. Find something to talk about. No contact is not good.

Kypreos is the one who reported Hiordano's ask in the range of $9.0 m.

A visit to a sibling or neighbor could see you make a new friend today, Cancer, probably someone who works in a creative profession. If you're currently romantically involved, this person could become your best friend. If you're unattached, sparks could fly between you and him or her. You could talk for hours and part unwillingly. Exchange contact information. You'll be glad you did!
I hate my neighbors and my only sibling is out of town. Not in a creative profession and while I am single my best friend is a lesbian. Literally not a single part is accurate and I would still believe it before Eric Francis.

It seems obvious this is a split the difference (more or less) situation. If those numbers are roughly true, Gaudreau is clearly too high and the Flames are obviously too low. Split. The. Bloody. Difference. It is likely the inevitable outcome anyway, just get down to it. I am thInking more and more this drags 10-20 games into the season - who cracks depends on team performance. Sigh.

I trust McKenzie but knowing what I know (what we all know) about Treliving, I have a very hard time believing they haven't spoken recently. I think Bob has bad info this time around.
