Even if Chiasson can't find his scoring touch again he is speedy and a good penalty killer I believe.

I was really excited when the Flames drafted Sieloff. It's a shame it didn't work out, for a number of reasons. Best of luck to him.

Hmm, I was a fan of Sieloff but this trade makes sense to me. Don't think Chiasson is anything more than a 3rd liner though, we'll see.

Any relation to Chiasson who played for Calgary before?

Jankowski and Chiasson for Girgensons now.

Good hockey trade.
Chiasson will have an opportunity to play his way on to a valuable role with this team, while Sieloff was certainly in tough to ever play in the NHL with the Flames organization.

Wonder where he fits especially if Tkachuk makes the team and the Flames sign a RWer on July 1st?

A half decent roster player for a guy who was a long shot to make the team at all?
Sold.

Excellent move, Pat had no chance in this organization. Chiasson has a chance to make an impact here, and no loss if he doesn't. Also a cheap body providing some extra flexibility for this season.

Chiasson was an up trending player before the Senators got their hands on him.
Will see if he can recapture that with the Flames.

Don't like it at all. Sieloff is a 1.0 goal-per-game player at the NHL level. Hard to replace those kinds of players.

Great example of two GM's doing doing right by their players. Both guys could benefit from a fresh start in a new organization.
I sincerely hope Sieloff turns into a bona fide NHL defenseman. I wish him nothing but the best.

excellent deal, I am a fan of sieloff and feel for the guy but this trade just screams intelligent. I was impressed with chiasson a few years ago when he was in dallas with gulutzan. He disappointed in Ottawa but feel that partly due to how that team is structured which is vastly different than the flames.

Lifetime Suspension
Chiasson was neck and neck with Monahan in their respective rookie seasons in 13/14. Did well that year with 13G/35pts
Declined slightly in point totals over the two season since after going to Ottawa but seemed to improve on his 200ft game. Maybe can be rejuvenated here. He's still young
