Hopefully this means I can get a seat at the oaktree finally.
Sucks because I liked Prlr's cocktails but the venue was always dead so it makes sense.

There is also a brand new street level patio to serve the new room as well.

I see on the news that the Safeway finally put in some anti loitering measures at the little area in front of the store. It's about time! As someone who frequents the store multiple times a week I am sick of getting harassed by people hanging out front there. Of course people are upset but I think it's a good thing.

Yeah I noticed them today too. It looks pretty silly though, they should have just broken off the benches, since they're useless now.

Getting a lot of play in the Press and online I see. Some negative and some positive reviews. Personally it seems like overkill as a solution to the issue and the costs may outweigh the benefit. It creates an unfriendly atmosphere (which I suppose is partly the point) but also has the effect of driving away people and making the area sterile and hostile to pedestrians as a whole.

So Lot 102 in the corner of 10th and memorial abandoned the premesis? There is a landlord sign on the front saying as much. I am shocked they lasted that long.

Saw the "For Lease" signs up there yesterday. Too bad, their $4 bacon cheeseburger deal on Tuesday's was great.

They made decent fish tacos and the service was pretty good.
I wasn't a fan of the beer selection which ultimately led us to dine elsewhere.

There is a meat shop coming a few bays south of Flip'n Burgers. I think it used to be one of those crystals and other alternative health stuff stores.

Also a Scottish Shoppe going in where Silla used to be.
I think the only thing that could survive long term at the restaurant black hole building is an HSBC bank.

Or a good restaurant. If something goes in that actually is of quality it would attract the people. If say, Hayden Block went in there instead of where it is I am sure it would be busy because of the BBQ/Whisky. An average burger place in a bad location isn't going to survive.

If you wanted to inflict maximum carnage on the road system, a Tim Hortons with drive through would do quite well there.

Tim Hortons would probably be the ideal test location for drone deliveries.

Good thing Tim Hortons is going in 2 blocks west instead. The outrage over 2 Memorial lanes closed on one summer Sunday was carnage enough.

Good news. However, I now go to Kona Poke. Like their bowls better and find it fresher. Last few times the rice at Poke was reheated.
Hopefully the new location will be better.
