One of the greatest and twisted moments in Television history was the Larry the Lobster scandal which was one of the first examples of interactive live T.V.
It was Schmitt's Gay, I think... This was one of those intended to make you say "Oogh, YUCK!" The new one about using pubic hair for balding cure really cracks me up.

Had never seen the Sinead O'Conner thing until just this week when SNL aired their Behind the Stage thing or whatever it was called. She looked pretty rattled when they had her out there afterwards for goodbyes. I can't even imagine what the firestorm would've been like for that, especially almost 20 years ago when our society didn't seem nearly as secular as it does now.
The Ashlee Simpson thing I actually caught live, that was just...weird. Even afterwards, at the time I figured she'd be fine, she was pretty popular back then, more-so than her sister was at the time. But fast-forward to a few years later and she hasn't done anything since, I guess you could say this really did ruin her career.
EDIT- your link doesn't work. SNL's (and NBC in general) brutal for ripping things off Youtube in record time, probably why I can't find any damn Deep Thoughts clips.
Avid SNL watcher here. Love this year's cast, they are doing a great job. Kristen Wiig is fantastic, but was overplayed last year. This year they are doing a much better job at including some of the other female cast members more often. One recent episode (maybe the Dana Carvey one) only had Kristen in one or two sketches.
And some other good recent commercials...John Hamm and Michael Buble's "Hamm and Buble"...Peter Sarsgaard's "SARS Guards"...
I remember watching a special sports show every year....when they would show their best sports skits.Martin Short and Harry Shearer (sp.) as the synchro swimmers.
