don't buy tickets to shows from the hotels themselves, there are ticket vendor booths along the strip that sell those same tickets for half price or less. when i saw Penn & Teller i think i paid maybe $40 for my ticket

Buy your booze at ABC (on the strip) and enjoy puplic drinking at it's finest.
(Insert obligitory Option84 comment about not buying pop at the liquor store)

Guitar Hero
Eiffel Tower
Yardstick
It's Purple but it Ain't Barney.
Search these out. Drink them, enjoy.
Go see "O" Cirque Du Soliel, Penn and Teller's "Bullspit" and of course The Blue Man Group.

Just got back, May 7th to 12th.
Stay on the strip. I stayed at the Golden Nugget, and while Fremont is worth a visit, the strip is where it's at. Pool and water slide at the Nugget was awesome though.
Take a cab from the airport to your hotel. Chances are your hotel offers a shuttle, but it makes a lot of stops and all round sux. Our group (six of us) were offered a limo at the airport and declined ($80 split 6 ways would have been so worth it)
Bring comfortable shoes!! You are going to walk a lot
Most hotels have safes in the rooms. Lock up your passport, air ticket, and probably credit cards.
The locals seemed to love Canadians there. (probably because with the US economy we have the money)
Get US currency from your bank in advance. Debit cards sometimes cause trouble at a lot of locations. Credit cards work well, but there are a lot of scams.
If you visit Freemont and are staring up at that giant screen canopy, put a spare hand on your wallet. Was warned this is a prime pick pocket senario
If you are going to see the rippers, call ahead and have them send you a limo. The Cabbie drivers get a cut for driving you to clubs, and you might as well get a limo. A lot of times the club will send it for free.
If you are playing blackjack, tip the drink server $10 first time. Makes you way more likely to get your drinks complemented.
Tattoo Parlors have no problem tattooing your drunk ass.
Pawn Stars will kick you out if you are too drunk
Visit Heart Attack Grill on Fremont. Food is mediocre at best, but the nurse theme is fun. The nurses will pose with you for a photo too.

With how expensive Vegas is, I'm amazed at Canadians that used to go down all the time when our dollar was .60 cents.

Huh? If you're playing blackjack, drinks should already be comped. I tip $3 the first time and $1 for every drink thereafter!

Vegas is dirt cheap. I save money by spending a week in Vegas.

Of all the shows I have seen there, including the Cirque stuff, Blue man was by far my favorite. Viva Elvis is pretty good too.

Be prepared to have about 1,000 guys standing on the Strip handing out hooker fliers. Ironic of course, because while in Nevada prostitution is legal, it is illegal in Las Vegas and Reno both.

Interac doesn't exist in the US. I learnt that the hard way.

If you're looking for some laughs, I recommend hitting up George Wallace at the Flamingo.
Best 10pm show on the strip and money well spent.
Other good times include:
-Ka (Cirque Du Soleil).
-Bare (topless pool party at Mirage) A dozen or so slutty College girls from Georgia who were very hot to party that day/night.
-Limo to and from Sapphires, entry to Sapphires, bucket of beer and UFC on the big screen for 25 bucks iirc. Dollar dances between rounds. 100 billion dollars on lappers and private dances afterwards.

If you are uncomfortable carrying a large amount of cash purchase travelers cheques from your bank. They can be used to pay for purchases and the merchant gives you the change back. If they are lost or stolen they are replaced, safe and effective for traveling.

Not everywhere, but it does exist. I was able to withdraw using my interac card probably half a dozen times at various places on the strip.

I've actually never had problems taking out money with my debit card in the US. I've used Citi Bank and Bank of America with no issues.

Spice Market Buffet at Planet Hollywood. You won't be sorry!
Also, go to the Cosmopolitan Hotel and on the third floor (where it's mainly fancy restaurants) there's a hallway and down the hallway is a pizza kitchen with no name that sells pizza by the slice. So good, and your friends will be impressed that you found it! Get a slice of pepperoni and a slice of white pizza.
