Both goalies have their inconsistencies.

Flames should leave this prevent positional pasive defense against dallas top line. This works well against many teams but does not against top end lines in the league. Dallas has 2 of most productive forwards in the league.

Uh, Hiller let in a really soft goal last game. Hartley largely goes on his gut with the goaltending, and he's mostly been right. Both can be fantastic but also have the ability to be downright stinky.

Yeah hopefully that was the last Hiller stinker for awhile.. His glove side is not very good.

He did let a real bad one in.

But I suspect Hartley based his decision on the way Hiller got progressively better as the game went on. IMO he went from soft goal to stopping the puck awkwardly to stopping but leeting a few recounds go (but being in good position still) to stopping and freezing.

Ramo, while making fantastic saves last game he played, still let in more than average over the last few games, and it's probably a good move to turn the net over and see what Hiller can do. Also, arguably some of Ramo's fantastic saves were created by him having to scramble back to position.

BTW, why does Hiller look so much bigger than Ramo? They are both listed at 6'2" Is it pads? Or Ramo's tiny crouch?

I think it's because Hiller likes to stand tall a lot more than Ramo does. Ramo always seems to be in the crouching/butterfly stance.

I wasn't super impressed with Hiller yesterday, he looked a little shaky for some reason. Hopefully it was rust.

This isn't a must win, but it sure makes things easier on us if we pull out 2 points.

Dallas
STL
Edm
PHO
LA
Winn

We need 4 wins out of 6 games, hopefully including the last 2.

If we win these next two, our chances of making playoffs would be real high

Can our goalies have a good game and not let shaky goals in for once..

A win tonight gives Dallas almost no chance of making it. It's unlikely they would make it anyway, but it still eliminates a risk. With VAN in STL and LA in CHI, it could become a big jump in the Flames' playoff chances. It also puts less pressure on the team in STL and even against PHX and EDM (the must wins).

Dallas will come out tonight on a mission. They don't have the pressure of "must" winning the game, because most people have written off their playoff hopes. However, the team still has a slight chance and they will fight hard for themselves and to prove everyone wrong.

The Flames have all the pressure tonight. They need to stick to their game plan and continue to surprise.

If flames can get on it early and get up a couple goals in the first, Dallas' players may wise up and start booking tee times during the first intermission.
