Is there also a difference between why Air Canada lets you wear ear buds during take off but WestJet doesn't?

Because Air Canada is connected to the system and they can override what you're listening too?

And westjet you are using your own device.

Did westjet change their system again? Last time I flew they had a similar system to Air Canada with the seat back entertainment but still required us to take out our headphones.

Well yeah, that's why I was somewhat surprised to hear that from profs.

Anyone know if the Airport steps up to cover the damage?
Is the homeowner out of pocket their insurance deductible?

I don't think the airport is responsible. However, if one could identify the airline, one might be able to make a statement of claim.

Should be easy enough, they were home at the time? Imagine coming home to that! Especially if it's snowing!

That's scary, wow. Should be easy to find which plane/airline it came from if they're were home, noticed the time, called 911 etc.

I was working on a condo project in Inglewood probably about 7 years ago and this exact thing happened a few units down. No one was home at the time though so the exact flight was never determined, as i recall the airport picked up the tab.

Yet another great one from Flight Chops, a scenic tour of the Vancouver area.

Saw a couple of the outbound flight attendants and they were visibly upset. Condolences to the family.
