Remember when some in the media said that Lindholm's deal was too much for him at that point of his career with what he's proven...well this deal is only $100k less, 1 year longer, and Tuch has only 1 full year of experience at the NHL level at a level of production lower than any of Lindholm's last four.

If that was a 1 year blip for Tuch this has the potential to be ugly but if he can keep up his level of production from last year or improve at all then this will look good for Vegas.

For some reason, seeing such a long-term (7 years) but low AAV ($4.75MM) looks unusual to me.

it's a nice gamble by Vegas, signing guys like Theodore and Tuch to such long-term contracts. They have the cap space to overpay them now, and if they improve and fulfill their potential those contracts look like bargains in a few years. Certainly interesting to watch.

These types of deals have worked for Nashville, Vegas seems to be following suit
