"Severely jaded" is your assumption. Other than that, sure. Whatever. Even if you negate 3Rd party information consider the players on ice play and my opinion still stands. I've always cheered for wideman and defended the signing for years, this year is crystal clear he's pretty much done. I want to see Andersson over wideman. How ever which way you want to paint it, Wideman is the worst player on the team hands down. How anyone can possibly defend or prefer Wideman over a hot coal log at this point is beyond bizarre

No. It is actually how the OP who supplied the information described his source.

There is plenty about which to be critical of Wideman's on ice performance without resorting to rumours. In any event I share the hope of everyone to see Andersson get some playing time down the stretch.

According to Wills, Stone didn't travel with the team to Winnipeg, which makes this scenario unlikely.

I'm not sure how that changes anything. Hamilton's status for tomorrow is the concern.


If Hamilton can't go, they can go with: Gio-Wideman / Brodie-Engelland / Bartkowski-Andersson with Andersson still on an Emergency recall because he'd be the sixth healthy defenceman.

If Hamilton can go, they'll have the choice between: Gio-Hamilton / Brodie-Engelland / Bart-Wideman; or Gio-Hamilton / Brodie-Engelland / Bart-Andersson. If Andersson doesn't play, they send him back to Stockton and cancel the Emergency recall because they have six healthy d-men. If he does play, they switch his recall status from Emergency to regular.

sorry I worded that wrong, meant to say the scenario where it is assumed that Wideman is going to be automatically scratched in favour for Andersson is unlikely as if that where the case they would have already used the regular call up on him

Yes. But the emergency call up is transferable to become one of 4 allowed call ups. I didn't say emergency call up. Some have speculated this transfer may yet happen. Hence the IF

Not that it makes a huge difference on whether or not Andersson plays (given that this is an emergency cal up) Eric Francis stated as fact just now on the Fan 960 that Wideman checked out on the coach and in his (Francis') opinion does not believe he should play.

FWIW Eric Francis was on the FAN 960 this afternoon with a very vocal impeachment of Wideman's character and attitude. I suspect that he is likely the source of this information.
