I have to admit, I laughed.

Canucks were doing better without him earlier this season.

And in other news, Sami Salo is out 4-6 weeks with a collapsed lung after laughing at Komskies joke.

Didn't even get the chance to find his gold medal diving form. A shame for him.

He did get a penalty for diving a few games ago though. His usually head snapping was looking pretty good!

So do the Canucks pull the trigger and try and move a goalie for some Center help? The window with the current group is getting smaller.

That's really too bad.

It's strange though. I would have expected a broken rib or something from a mistimed dive resulting in a belly flop landing.

Perhaps it was one of those fancy feet first dives that caused the damage.

I'm hearing that Malhotra is back practicing today (full contact jersey)

^^Malhotra was always going to practice with the team and act as an impromptu assistant coach, but he's done. Won't be playing. Likely one of Higgins or Burrows shifts to centre and plays on the 3rd line. Although it's not clear how bad the injury is to Kesler, might not be super long term.

That said my immediate reaction was, "hmm, returning after a long layoff from a surgery recovery and gets a broken bone on a freak injury right away? This seems familiar; did he ask the trainer to cut his foot off this time?"

This just makes the Hodgson trade look even worse. Kassian is mediocre and the Cancuks need the depth at center because Kesler's health is unreliable. In other words great trade Gillis.

How much longer is the Canucks window?

Sedin's are 32
Burrows-31, turns 32 in April
Bieksa-31,
Hamuis-30
Luongo-33, turns 34 in April

They need to win this year or next. If not, they may just miss their shot.

I know the whole Karma thing is an overused cliche but in this case it seems kind of fitting as he's been embellishing on the ice for years and now he's really getting hurt.
