Terminator Genisys plot revealed, and err its sharknado

Sarah Connor isn't the innocent she was when Linda Hamilton first sported feathered hair and acid-washed jeans in the role. Nor is she Hamilton's steely zero body-fat warrior in 1991's T2. Rather, the mother of humanity's messiah was orphaned by a Terminator at age 9. Since then, she's been raised by (brace yourself) Schwarzenegger's Terminator—an older T-800 she calls "Pops"—who is programmed to guard rather than to kill. As a result, Sarah is a highly trained antisocial recluse who's great with a sniper rifle but not so skilled at the nuances of human emotion.

Ummm errr, Crack is bad?

Im not a huge terminator nerd, but sounds ok enough of a premise to me. Is this a different timeline now? Is the main character in sharknado orphaned and then raised by sharks?

Daenerys can't be new Sarah Connor, Cersei is new Sarah Connor.

Why is Genesis spelled incorrectly? Is that edgy?

They don't want people to think that the Terminators are running on a 90's video game console CPU.

Will be god awful. They ignore what made the first two good and go to focus groups and completely rearrange the formula. James Cameron knew and sadly won't come back. It will be a focus grouped to death bore, rewriting Sarah Connor's story is a mistake.

But the 90's are what made the Terminator story great...

I am not a fan at all in what's coming. I watched the original Terminator last night, and it's the type of movie I would consider to be "perfect". I wouldn't say that about many movies, but I can't find a single fault with the original (Judgement Day has a few problems).
The new "rehash", reboot, or whatever is problematic to say the least. I guess they want to try something new, but then why force Schwarzenegger's T-800 back into the plot, if they don't intend on keeping the original premise of the first two movies? Schwarzenegger can't even fill the role anymore, as he's clearly past his prime (and I mean 20 years past it).
I get that Schwarzenegger's presence will always be attached to the franchise, but even his CGI appearance in Salvation didn't work. If they wanted to commit to something new they should have just dropped him, and probably moved on from Sarah Connor. While I didn't love Salvation, as least it provided for a few interesting ideas, and was different enough than the first three.
I wouldn't even mind them showing us the actual all our war the machines have with humanity, and end at the point where the T-800 and Kyle Reese are sent back in time. That's just another prequel though, but the war would make it worth it.
The magazine covers also don't give me much hope. They look an awful lot like the Days of Future Past covers. Oh and Jai Courtney is a terrible actor, so that's not a good place to start. Really I just wish James Cameron would helm these rather than working on unnecessary Avatar sequels.

Ambient yet chilling music, impending doom, time travel, robots without fear or conscience that will do anything to kill and a hero that needed to survive are what made them good. Jurassic Park is still a good movie, so is the original Star Wars Trilogy. Good movies aren't good because of the year they came out.
This movie likely ends the franchise.

You're wrong. It clearly says on those magazine covers; How to Save a Billion-Dollar Franchise.

Smartly tie it in with The Matrix. That would be a movie I'd pay to see.

I'm confused is this a reboot or a continuation of the trilogy?
Lol, if its a reboot Skynet sends back the t800 to kill Sarah Connor, then the t1000 to kill John Connor and then figures it out and goes for Sarah's parents?
In which case she should already be expecting it in T1 and T2. WTF.

Now you understand the mindfata of Terminator time travel!
So, if it weren't for the first T100 that got sent back, how would Dyson have created the technology to have ever created Skynet in the first place?

I thought the chip and arm they found in the hydraulic press just accelerated the discovery and didn't give him the idea.

I think nik is right, they were already under development of the tech, the arm and chip just pushed up the development process of Skynet.

I know that it still would have happened eventually, but how old would John Connor have been if Dyson hadn't been given the chip and arm from the factory that helped speed up the progress?

Judging by the photobomb in the Entertainment Weekly cover, this is going to be played as a comedy. Of the actors, I'm afraid that Emilia Clarke is woefully miscast, as she can actually act. They would do well to replace her with Denise Richards, so that she can fit in with the 'Ski Patrol with Guns' vibe that the rest of the cast is throwing out there.
