I think we're seeing so much smoke around this inquiry, that it will eventually lead to the fire and give cause for impeachment, even among Republicans. There are several prominent Republicans already on the case for impeachment (McCain, Graham etc.) and as news comes out the rest of these guys will figure out that their political career rests on directing all the negative energy towards Trump and pile on with impeachment talk. Those that try to keep him in power (Paul Ryan etc.) will be drummed out of office in their next election for not doing more to stop Trump.
Here's the crummy part though, we're going to be left with President Pence *shudder*.
This is going to shift American politics back towards the center left for at least the next two election cycles. You'll likely see a domination of the house, senate, and executive branch for the democrats by 2020.

This stuff will continue to bubble while Trump is away.. and the trip itself is grueling according to people who've done such trips before. I read Trump's already been asking if it can be cut down to 5 days from 9. Should make for some interesting news.
