Discovered this on a random link following ride through the internets. I am curious if anyone in real life believes this. Also I am not really sure if the people on the forum are legit or just screwing with me. Either way the science in there will blow your mind. Killed about 5 hours of my day.
I always figured this group was Kaufman-esque satire. I know they claim to be for real and are unrelenting in that, but I always thought that was the point. They want to see how many people will fall for it and for how long.
At least that's the impression I always had.

I actually feel that way about all religions/religious beliefs.

That's fine. Not sure what it has to do with this topic though. It's not a religious group.
Flat Earth Society Members
History of the Flat Earth Society
The modern age of the Flat Earth Society dates back to the early 1800s, when it was founded by Samuel Birley Rowbotham, an English inventor. Samuel Rowbotham's Flat Earth views were based largely on literal interpretation of Bible passages.
4. As far as current studies are concerned, moon burn can not be avoided by "moon tanning," so please do not attempt this until further studies are conducted.
6. Beware of Moon Demon Acolytes. They often come out on nights of a full moon and comment, "The moon is so beautiful tonight, don't you just want to stare at it?"
As for the comments on religion, my beliefs or lack of beliefs aside, why ruin a perfectly good Sunday night be posting something with no intent other than trying to piss off fellow board members? It just makes you look like your screaming for attention!

There is nothing inherently more ridiculous about moon tanning and a flat earth than there is about divine preordainment or a 5,000 year old earth. This is not a call for people to go out and pull purposefully offensive stunts like Quran-burning, but I don't see why religion should be immune from fair comment like everything else.

Sorry about the broken link I am pretty new at this whole posting thing and didn't take enough time to edit. Anyway all in all pretty hilarious. I myself was a big fan of the conspiracy theory thread which links off the FAQ. There are roughly 2000 guards or so guarding the ice wall that surrounds earth and keeps in the water and atmosphere.
Also the constantly upward accelerating earth to explain how gravity doesn't exist. Obviously it will never reach the speed of light that is impossible so every time it gets close i guess it just resets or something...

you can fly around the world or go into space to see that the earth is actually round. you can't disprove God
