Looks like the Bow river pathway will be getting closed along the Zoo again until November 30th:

Funny thing is that it has been open this week and the closure was supposed to have started on May 1st.

Wow, hopefully you can still take the road route over the bridge to cross Memorial. It shows pathway closed, but are they also shutting down that exit? Is this for river bank work? I can't see a pathway project taking that long.

Yeah not keen on how it shows that you can't use the pathway from the St. George's drive overpass to connect back to the Bow path. Detouring through Bridgeland isn't a big deal but it will slow you down by a few minutes.

I saw the signs up for this on Friday. This is going to be super annoying. That path is so busy, how can you shut it down for the entire summer without a better path through the neighbourhood? The detour it shows is ridiculous.

When you see segment times like that do you think the person gets near the segment, takes a rest and then when fully ready just goes flat out for it?

It probably takes me about 20 seconds to go DOWN that switchback with braking. 26 seconds is inconceivable..

Rode out in West Bragg on the weekend. Dry in 98%. Some of the switchbacks are beat to hell because of people riding there too early. No longer buff berm, but a rutted out corner. I saw a couple of friends and they said Bobcat and Snakes were a disaster from horses going out there in the muck.

Can't stand the equestrians. First to complain, never there to help on trail day and if they aren't destroying a trail with hoofprints, they're crapping all over it.

Or they just pedal at a steady rate and then crank it. There's a couple I'm sitting in 2nd place for that I do that for.

I rode bragging rights and merlin on Saturday morning. my thoughts were similar in that:

* parking lot is a hot mess, not sure what the finished product will look like, but it seems months away
* rode whitetail connector up to bragging rights, it was on the soft side
* bragging rights for the most part was good, there are some sections that are getting worn down
* merlin was good with the exception of that one switchback after that rock garden (which I can never clear). the swithback is so rutted and needs a bunch of fixing
* the berms on the way down, are getting really dumded down by people going straight thru

thankfully the horsey set has no wrecked these trails yet.

I am hoping to try riding ridgeback on the weekend. I heard snakes and ladders is a mess

Saw the signs for the pathway closure by the zoo up this morning, so I detoured through the zoo parking lot and across the 12th Street overpass, only to see that the path still wasn't closed.

Any idea when it's being closed down?

Yep. Still closed. Broke a minute on that nasty Renfrew thing. Only 30 or so seconds to go for the KOM!

I didn't cycle today because I was working downtown. What do I need to know about pathway closures for tomorrow morning? Looking at the absolutely terrible pathway app it shows both the path behind the zoo closed and the path leading up to the crossing at Fox Hollow closed.
