Default Hitmen acquire Nick Schneider

The #Hitmen acquire goaltender Nick Schneider from the #Tigers for 4th round pick in 2019. He's a #Flames prospect.

Guess that answers where Schneider will play next season.

2nd time that the Hitmen have recently acquired a signed Flames prospect for their overage season

Schneider lost the starter position with the Tigers last season. Since the Hitmen are owned by the Flames he will get ample starts in Calgary

Hopefully they can turn Schneider's career around, because he has been terrible lately.

Nice. Hopefully the kid can have a bounce back season.

Schneider is basically found money.
If he picks up his game again, and becomes a legit prospect, that's great. If he doesn't, we don't really lose anything.
Hope the move helps him though!

The only real negative is that he does take up a roster spot after this season. Not a concern unless the Flames get close to the limit. I'm thinking if the Flames knew they would be able to draft someone like Parsons they wouldn't have bothered with signing Schneider.

Wrong Schneider. Wrong league. Correct city.

I guess that's the good thing about owning a WHL team.

Word around the city here is that Schneider (like many players on the roster) hated coach Clouston. Schneider was not happy when he basically lost his starting job after a hot start to the season. He finished poorly and even unexpectedly (again, rumour) left the team for about a week back in March.

He had some flashes of brilliance, especially to start the season. He seemed to lose his confidence behind a really bad defense. It also sounds like that locker room is not too positive. That said, he did win this year's community player award. With all the OA players on the Tigers he was never going to be back next season. Hopefully he finds the magic he had to start this past season.

That's great news. I really liked Schneider as a prospect. The kid seemed to have a lot of 'battle' in him and never seemed to give up on pucks. I really like that in goalies. He absolutely earned that signing with Calgary, and I thought he was a legitimate goalie prospect - another decent bullet in the chamber. Hope he manages to get back on track now.
