I'm sure the design process needed to start 2 years ago. I highly doubt that it took 2 years of actual work to design.

But then again with a team of designers at Adidas doing multiple mock designs for each team, getting approval from their Art Director, getting approval from multiple levels at Adidas, working with the NHL and working with 31 clients through multiple rounds of feedback - you never know. That's not taking into account fabric testing, sizing, stress testing and fabricating the final designs. I've been involved in similar projects that took about a year.
