haha, "barely break even"

I heard rumours that after yesterday's Council meeting item 6.2 "facilities report", the City has more or less got its framework for an arena deal together and it has been put in the Flames' court.

Next two weeks or so are crucial.

Didn't Ken King say they qualified for revenue sharing this year? So yeah, maybe they did just break even.

Conspiracy theory: they are classifying the VGK expansion payment as revenue sharing. I mean, it's revenue, and they get a share of it...

I'd like one of the conditions, if we get the Olympics that the Flames Org has to be all in on NHL'ers at the games. I know it isn't their decision, but surely they have influence.

If Calgary gets the Olympics we won't have to worry about it. NHL players would be going no questions asked.

So I just paid $7.75 for a can of beer and $4.75 for a bottle of water at McMahon. And now some of you rubes want to give these #######s a ton of tax money so they can turn around and charge us more for tickets and more for beer!

Good lord. Give your heads a shake.

Cash too, because they are too cheap to put in debit machines. It's embarrassing. 2017 and no way to pay other than cash at our professional stadium.

The Stadium is a joke and needs to be replaced.

Best post. More Alberta patches. Ken King should get one tattooed on his forehead since he likes the flag patches so much.

Lol political rhetoric for you know who. Laughable attempt to make the Flames the bad guys.

Pretty sure you don't need a new stadium to install a few debit machines.

Even king has mentioned they have been going back and forth. At a meeting a couple weeks ago they mentioned they were waiting for the city to get back to them, so if it is on the flames court now then progress is being made.

A rumour of something being done, with nothing being announced publicly, is political rhetoric?

You've got a pretty low bar for political rhetoric.

I want little more than for rhe flames emerging from this looking good. I am totally in favour of a new arena, including public money.
