The most difficult part of opening a restaurant is building your client base. Whomever rebranded FATS, chose to potentially lose the existing clientele, and if you do that, what you put in its place better be something special.
Agree that the term 'gastropub' is horrendous.
Has anyone tried the new 'healthy' eatery in the new building across from the Safeway on 10th? Can't remember what it is called.

A new breakfast/lunch place called The Daily is now under construction below Higher Ground.

Ah yes, walked by yesterday. Nice to see that both those empty bays in that building have now been leased. Something called Blank Canvas going into the other one.

Actually went to Lot 102 prior to flames game on NYE and was quite impressed with teh burger I had.
We had a gift card and figured we had to go before it closed down since it never seemed full ever, but now we will actually go back.

Burger320 is also open where the old house coffee shop was, had a burger there. Amazing.

I second that. Probably among the best burgers I have ever had.

Delicious, but pretty pricey. Wife and I each had a burger and split a large fry, plus a beer for me and it was about $45.
Next morning we hit Vero for brunch and had eggs benny, side of bacon, and a coffee. $42.
Vero versus Burger320? I'm going to Vero every time.

<Falls out of chair> $45 for Burger 320. Wow.
I've been there 3 times and each time has been meah for me. I keep trying to like it but find the bun and patty really dry. I try and dress it up, but it never is anything to write home about.
but yeah, there is no way I am going back if that is what they charge. I'd rather drive down to Five Guys.

Not sure how he got to $45? Burgers on the menu are $7 to $15.

My burger was probably close to the $15, double patty with bacon. Wife had their chicken burger, plus the large fry and a beer for me.
Not big on the cash only thing either. Yeah I know credit card rates and such can suck, but if a meal for two is coming out that high I'd rather be putting plastic down. I rarely carry any cash (they do have an ATM in the store though).

actually, looking at the Burger320 menu, it seems pretty reasonable.

I'd agree. The $15 burgers include fries and gelato. The basic cheeseburger is $8, but you get your choice of cheeses, including brie and blue cheese. You're not going to do any better than that outside of fast food.

Plus adding the fried egg for $2. I mean who says no to that?
... communists, that's who. Only communists say no to that.

My comparison was that simply put I'd rather spend that money on a meal across the street at Vero, where I have never had anything short of delicious.
Yes I am comparing apples to oranges (hamburgers to fusion), but that's just my personal preference. Also add in the killer friendly service at Vero, Burger320 is good but nothing to blow you away.

Been to the new Ikemen Ramen place and found it pretty average. Shiki Menya still reigns supreme for Ramen in Calgary. Ramen is another played out food trend to me.

Eating a sandwich at Versailles in Miami was pretty close to a religious experience.
