I found the series really starts taking off and coming into its own at some point in episode 3. The first episode was a bit of a slog since they really wanted to drive home the premise and establish the characters.
Quite a number of very clever moments and dialogue. Definitely got a feel of what Futurama had built into its prime. It's strange to have this style with a linear story, though. Strange, but good.
Part 1 ends pretty abruptly on a cliffhanger. Hate that I have to wait another year.
Recommend.

That was an actual "joke" in the first episode. This is no Futurama, and I'm far from hooked.
I just watched the first episode of Disenchanted and it was 'meh.' The premise and the animation were fine. But the humour was pretty strained - lots of jokes that the writers seemed to think were funnier than they really were. I'm also disappointed that it's just raunchy enough that I won't be watching it with my kids.
If it didn't have the Groening pedigree, I'd probably be one and done. But I'll give it a few more episodes to see if it finds it legs.

Season 1 of the Simpsons sucked. It didn't get good until S2 and really good until S3. Same with Futurama.
I'm not even really concerned that none of the first 3 episodes amazed me.
To add to this, I find a lot of the first seasons of animated shows to be pretty lackluster. F is for Family and Bojack are two of the more recent examples of poor first seasons and then really finding their feet in the second seasons.
Both The Break with Michelle Wolf and The Joel McHale Show have been cancelled by Netflix. No big loss for either one. I don't think Netflix is really a good platform for "topical" type shows.

Well, that was quick. I guess the correspondent's dinner didn't provide the bump she needed.

The last 4 episodes of season 2 were horrible, as the show went from "fun and unique show about lady wrestlers" to "generic family drama with a little bit of wrestling".
Forgot who was recommending “Unsolved”, but even as somebody who doesn’t think much about Tupac or B.I.G., this was a pretty good series. Compelling beyond the themes of rap / hip hop.
Watching Safe right now. Decent show that keeps you engrossed.
I haven't watched it yet but if you like Safe you should watch The Five. This according to a co-worker. It based on a book from the same author who wrote Safe. I enjoyed Safe and she told me she likes The five better.

Safe is essentially a sequel to the Five with a different cast/story - sort of like Fargo season to season. Five was good. I am sure I would have liked Safe more, but for that accent. Why couldn't he have just been an American doctor that moved to the UK?
