Finally beat my first Devine Beast in Gerudo - probably didn't help that I supposedly did the toughest one first.
I'm stuck on Thunderblight Ganon. I can reliably get him about 3/4 of the way dead and then he just destroys me. So fast, and I'm not great at parrying. And usually by that point of the fight all my useful weapons and shields are destroyed.
I left to go upgrade my hearts/get better food and armor and have just been wandering around doing shrines the last few hours.
Is there any rumors on virtual console dates? What it might look like when it's available?
That's a huge draw for me with this system. I love the system itself, but granted I'm not a huge Zelda fan. Excited for Mario Kart, but some classic Nintendo games would make me so happy. If some GameCube games became available this might even take the title of favorite console away from my PS4
Currently trying to grind out resources for armor upgrades. I need like 40 Ice Keese Wings, and I can't find a good reliable place to find them, just random encounters
There is a snowy mountian in the far east (lanryu?) and just off the back (Northeast) slope there are close to 6 ice keese that spawn along the pathway, maybe more. Unlock the shrine and you can warp there after blood moons.

With regards to Thunderblight Ganon get the rubber suit armor, it helps, get the full set and upgrade 2x and it's shock proof.
That and the master sword, and I didn't find that one that difficult and I wasn't able to get the hang of parrying him at all, I just blocked a lot. I think I had a non-metallic shield too.

I beat him on my lunch break today -- went and upgraded my armor a bit, came in with some better weapons too. Wasn't too bad then, got a little lucky near the end though.
Off to the Gorons! I'm already halfway through their questline, just needed some more heat proof armor (which I have -- it's what I got to fight Thunderblight with).
Heh yeah. It's pretty funny how as soon as you dress with the girls clothes all the guys start talking to you like some guys in MMOs talk to you if they think you're a girl.

Since this is the unofficial Zelda thread figured I'd post this here
Pretty much all of the technical issues for BOTW emulation have been fixed, though it will require a very beefy CPU to run smoothly until they optimize it more. But for those looking for a 4K experience for Zelda it won't be much longer. And to reiterate, if you own the Wii U disc it is perfectly legal to rip it and play it in Cemu

Then glided over top a bunch of mountains and landed on a Sheikah tower in the middle of an enemy encampment. Looks like it would've been pretty difficult to approach from the ground level!
Got the last guardian, so am ready I guess to go into the castle.
Currently trying to do as many of the shrines as I can, I'm at 95 or so and I think there's 120 of them.
Interesting discoveries.
If you hold a fire weapon, it increases the temperature around you even if it's just on your back. So you can equip a flame sword, then use some climbing gear and/or snow boots to make getting around the really cold areas quicker.
This also works for ice blocks! Instead of building a campfire next to a block I want to melt, now I just equip a flame sword and stand next to it. This was useful after I went through a series of quests that took like 100 wood total. Bombs work well for clear cutting forests.
If you're not great at reflecting guardian lasers, cutting off the seeker ones' legs works well too, you can usually manage to flip them over so you can bash them down without risk if you manage to get all the legs. The master sword works well for this.
Hearty Durians are the best food, cook one for a full hearts + 4 extra hearts buff. Cook more than one and you get more extra hearts buff. I cooked some with like 20 or something extra hearts buff but I really haven't used them yet.
Max out your stamina sooner rather than later, it does make the game more fun.
The speed buff from the stealth armor also makes the game more fun, I hardly use horses.
