Still surprised the Oil are up two heading home no less. Mr. Talbot - how good you would look in a Flaming C.

My fear is the Blues and Preds will grind their way to a 7-game finish, and the Oilers (if they finish the Ducks off) will pick on the remnants of the victor. Preds are already mounting significant injuries.

It's going to be nuts. Their city's starting to look like Calgary in '04.

It's true. Going to Edmonton has always been like getting in a time machine and going backwards by 10-20 years.

So I go to watch the Preds/Blues game and the first words I hear from Ron McLean are " the whole of Canada is on the McDavid train." Can I not even watch any game without the slobbering over him? I am so disgusted. I may be finished with hockey for the season. I think I will switch and see if NBC is this bad.

Wouldn't it have been noisy last night when the Oilers lost Edmonton's most important sporting event - the Draft Lottery?

Pierre McGuire must be the hardest working broadcaster out there. Seems like he calls a game everyday.

Preds score just after the PP ends. Where's this mythical superior crowd noise Canadians always talk about on NBC? For the third straight game I've watched on there it's significantly more muted than CBC/Rogers.
It's got that awkward style of crowd noise where you can tell it's incredibly loud but it ends up sounding deafly quiet and then super loud, although heavily muted. It's poor game presentation. If the crowd is loud, let it be loud and call the game over that. Why does the viewer have to get a lesser game presentation for the comfort of the broadcasters?

Dumb muting aside, Nashville is so loud, what a great playoff fan base.
EDIT: Haha, they just went from Pierre doing an on bench interview where you could barely hear anything the crowd was so insane, then they went directly to the regular broadcast cameras and it immediately changed to the Saddledome on a Monday night in October.
You can now hear a pin drop.

Easy team to cheer for. Exciting, likable players. No kessler/beiksa type scumbags. Good fan base for a non-tradition market. No annoying fans. I'd rather have them do well that a lot of other teams.

There was a segment on CBC radio today with the sole purpose of persuading casual fan listeners that Edmonton, over Ottawa, should be considered 'Canada's team'.
Their first argument was because the best player is home grown and playing on the 'right' side of the border. Whereas Ottawa's is Karlsson, and was not. They also made that an argument for why people should sway their support from Crosby.
What is this trash on my radio? I shut that crap right off.

James Neal.
Until recently they had Ribeiro. I dont really like Subban, at least on the ice. They're also taking a lot of flack for their strong-side neutral zone trap, though I think it's kind of neat.
