I didn't expect them to be as good as they were previous to this downslide, but I also didn't expect them to be as futile as they have been in the last 7.

Raymond/Hiller/Enggelland/Bollig/Russell 5 stars of the game?

They just seem lost right now. Early in the season they'd enter the zone with some speed and keep their feet moving. Right now they're either gliding in or throwing the brakes on and instead of taking it to the middle of the ice, they're trying to take it up the boards.

Alright it's time to bring back Ferland. Could care less about Sven or Knight.

The one time the Flames actually surpass the expectations given to them, they tank immediately after gaining a little respect and prove all the pundits right. That's depressing

November 28th, Bingo posts an article saying "The Flames are very, very likely to make the playoffs."

A week later the Flames begin a 7 game skid and appear to be dropping out of the picture.

Now, I'm not normally superstitious, but...

Hate to be that guy but its the first time I have drank in a while but its only 4 losses away from their longest losing streak.

I wake up everyday in the last week hoping to see a decent ( not blockbuster) transaction from Treliving.

What do you believe he should have done? Legit question, no harping.

Better team won. We are closing in on double digit games played without earning a point, I think I'd rather management determine how to get more draft picks out than to chase 10th place.
It's time to give Monahan some time with these two

I hate to call this losing skid Oiler-esque, because the Flames have actually played some good hockey in some of these games. But holy crap, does this ever suck. Our offence is so incompetent right now, it's tough to see them getting back in the win column anytime soon...especially with Vancouver and LA coming up next on the road. It's gonna be a long, depressing Christmas.

F--- I hate losing.

Time to change the lines.

Split up Gaudreau and Hudler and give them both a scorer to play with.

Gaudreau - Monahan - Colborne/Jones
Glencross - Granlund - Hudler
Byron - Jooris - Colborne/Jones
Raymond - Stajan - Bouma

Also move Colborne to the wing and keep him there, which gets our best face-off guy Stajan back in the lineup.

This spreads out the offence better and gives us 2 legit scoring lines and the bottom 2 lines should be able to chip in a bit too.

The hockey gods are taking over to prevent Mcdavid from going to Edmonton is my only reasoning.

At this point they might as well just keep losing. The Flames have shown they're just not ready yet to compete for the playoffs, so with such a deep draft coming up might as well get the best position possible and try again next year

I'm not superstitious either, but that reminds me...

Those years right after the Bouwmeester acquisition, where we started doing those spreadsheets that would give out the Flames' likelihood to get to the playoffs....at that point it seemed they would always crap out and end up just on the outside looking in.

It happened at least twice.
