Well... here's to hoping for trunk legs Bennett when he gets back.

So 4 months puts that about February... how much time is left in the CHL season for him to re-join Kingston and play?

Sounds like his surgery will be similar to the one Hall had on his left shoulder. He was out 5-6 months, but said that it felt like he had a completely new shoulder and was without any pain for the first time in 2 years. Hall hasn't had any complications since so this surgery is probably for the best in the long run

How soon after shoulder surgery do players usually start skating again?

I assume he gets his $925k NHL money plus his $92.500 bonus.

So what exactly is a "shoulder injury"? Does is have to do with the socket? Muscles? Ligaments?

He's up on the roster, he's making NHL dough. There's rules in place to prevent players who get injured from being sent down and receiving lower salaries.

Unless the Flames want to go after Bennett for not disclosing the injury, or something of that sort, I don't see how he wont be getting his NHL paycheque.

No, it's 10 games played. He has to dress for them, he isn't so no worries.

Rule of thumb from my doc was light skating only after the shoulder is strong enough to do a few pushups.

He still gets paid, but unless he plays in 9 games the contract year slides.

This has been discuessed in other threads, Sam Bennet will make his AHL salary. ($70k)

He will not use up a contract year unless he plays more than 9 NHL games.

Heal up Sam. There's a spot waiting for you anyways when you're 100%.

I still expect him to be in the Flames line-up at the start of next season. No excuses Sam!

If he's back in four months, he'll probably get 4-6 weeks out of this season, depending on the Frontenacs' playoff chances. If he's out six months, he's likely to miss the entire season. Rough, but a necessary choice.

Link?

Not saying it isn't true but AHL salary doesn't make sense to me.

So with this type of surgery, will he be able to complete some light training throughout the healing, or does he have to take it really easy?

It looks like a February to April return. Hopefully he can get a few games in this year. Any chance he could play if the Worlds?
