Adam Larsson
$5.50 million

To the New York Islanders:

Martin Necas
2018 1st
2018 2nd*

*becomes a 2018 3rd if Larsson plays under 70 games in 2017-18

The first is off to San Jose to satisfy a condition from a god-awful trade I made a few months ago. Jesus, what a horrific trade.

Anyway, I'm glad to make this deal. Necas was a top-10 pick in the CPHL draft this past year and went 12th-overall to the thin-at-centre Hurricanes in the NHL this year. He's a prospect that I'm thrilled to acquire. The 2nd is gravy here.

I was incredibly high on Necas pre-draft, I would have picked him as high as 5th overall, even over Elias Pettersson. I'm thrilled with this deal, as I essentially view it as trading Larsson for two firsts and a second. Even without the first, I like this trade.

I've been looking for a young, talented dman for a while. I have a good number of younger forward assets and was able to spare a good one in necas.

Picks balance the risk, Imo.

I think Scorp has made more trades then the rest of us put together in the last month

I made a lot of critical mistakes that I needed to rectify. I want to be competitive this year (and I think that I will be), but first I needed to make sure that I could satisfy this condition and not risk losing someone like Larsson not on my own terms to do so.

The trades aren't stopping, unless it's getting too busy around here. I'm always open to making a deal.

I think the high-frequency of deals has really helped you in learning CPHL value. Always enjoy someone as active as you, with a win some lose some attitude.
