The question is does the large show by normal people demoralize or inspire the fascists. The leadership might like the press but how long can any employable person go with being identified and shamed and shouted down at their own rally.
I suppose it really comes down to how much they believe in the cause. I suspect most of the rank and file are Nazis out of resentment and loneliness than any support of the cause.
If you follow the "sheet cake" approach of ignoring it you risk normalizing the behaviour and engaging the closet racists
Trump making sure that Bannon knows he still loves him.

I want to thank Steve Bannon for his service. He came to the campaign during my run against Crooked Hillary Clinton - it was great! Thanks S

Donald and Melania Trump announced Saturday that they would not attend this year's Kennedy Center Honors ceremony, which will honor LL Cool J, Lionel Richie, Gloria Estefan, TV producer Norman Lear and dancer-choreographer Carmen de Lavallade.

Skipping D.C. traditions has become a tradition in itself for Trump, who in April opted not to attend the annual White House Correspondents Dinner.
Trump's decision comes just days after both Lear and de Lavallade said in separate statements that, while they would attend the Kennedy Center Honors ceremony, they were skipping the pre-ceremony reception for honorees at the White House, the New York Times reports.
"In light of the socially divisive and morally caustic narrative that our current leadership is choosing to engage in, and in keeping with the principles that I and so many others have fought for, I will be declining the invitation to attend the reception at the White House," de Lavallade said in a statement.
Lear said he would forego the ceremony because Trump "has chosen to neglect totally the arts and humanities – deliberately defund them – and that doesn't rest pleasantly with me."
Richie also admitted he was considering boycotting the event. "I'm gonna just play it by ear," Richie told Today Tuesday. "I must tell you, I'm not really happy with what's going on right now with the controversies. They're weekly, daily, hourly." A rep for Richie did not respond to a question on if the singer will attend this year's event.

Is it just me or it an incredibly weak year for Kennedy Centre honours? I don't follow them too closely but isn't there usually at least a couple A listers, plus some other strong groups/people?

Norman Lear produced some of the most influential television in history. Both Ritchie and Estefan have sold over 100 million records in their respective careers.

He misspelled "heal" as "heel" like 4 times, deleted two tweets before he got it right, so it's probably him. Though it probably was someone that suggested to him that calling all the protesters anti-police agitators wasn't a good idea, so he praised the protesters at the end.

Norman Lear produced All In the Family, as we currently have a less educated Archie Bunker in the White House I actually don't blame him for avoiding the obvious comparisons.
Of course Trumps a coward so its not a surprise.

If there's one thing Trump knows better than anything, it's how to bankrupt things. Though his usual strategy of simply not paying people probably isn't the best approach here.

The Secret Service can no longer pay hundreds of agents it needs to carry out an expanded protective mission – in large part due to the sheer size of President Trump's family and efforts necessary to secure their multiple residences up and down the East Coast.
Secret Service Director Randolph "Tex'' Alles, in an interview with USA TODAY, said more than 1,000 agents have already hit the federally mandated caps for salary and overtime allowances that were meant to last the entire year.
The agency has faced a crushing workload since the height of the contentious election season, and it has not relented in the first seven months of the administration. Agents must protect Trump – who has traveled almost every weekend to his properties in Florida, New Jersey and Virginia – and his adult children whose business trips and vacations have taken them across the country and overseas.
"The president has a large family, and our responsibility is required in law,'' Alles said. "I can't change that. I have no flexibility.''
Alles said the service is grappling with an unprecedented number of White House protectees. Under Trump, 42 people have protection, a number that includes 18 members of his family. That's up from 31 during the Obama administration.
Overwork and constant travel have also been driving a recent exodus from the Secret Service ranks, yet without congressional intervention to provide additional funding, Alles will not even be able to pay agents for the work they have already done.
The compensation crunch is so serious that the director has begun discussions with key lawmakers to raise the combined salary and overtime cap for agents, from $160,000 per year to $187,000 for at least the duration of Trump's first term.
But even if such a proposal was approved, about 130 veteran agents would not be fully compensated for hundreds of hours already amassed, according to the agency.
"I don't see this changing in the near term,'' Alles said.
Both Republican and Democratic lawmakers expressed deep concern for the continuing stress on the agency, first thrust into turmoil five years ago with disclosures about sexual misconduct by agents in Colombia and subsequent White House security breaches.
A special investigative panel formed after a particularly egregious 2014 White House breach also found that that agents and uniform officers worked "an unsustainable number of hours,'' which also contributed to troubling attrition rates.
While about 800 agents and uniformed officers were hired during the past year as part of an ongoing recruiting blitz to bolster the ranks, attrition limited the agency's net staffing gain to 300, according to agency records. And last year, Congress had to approve a one-time fix to ensure that 1,400 agents would be compensated for thousands of hours of overtime earned above compensation limits. Last year's compensation shortfall was first disclosed by USA TODAY.
So a US destroyer got into an accident today and 10 sailors are dead. Trump's response was "that's too bad". Maybe it had something to do with the name of the ship

Donald Trump responded to the news that 10 sailors are missing after an American destroyer collided with an oil tanker with the phrase: “that’s too bad”.
The navy said five others were hurt after the incident on Monday in waters east of Singapore and the Strait of Malacca.
The USS John S McCain sustained damage on its port side aft — the left rear of the vessel — from the collision with the Alnic MC.
Trump, the commander-in-chief, was widely condemned after offering the curt response to reporters when told of the crash.

Bankrupting the Secret Service, lol. So much winning!
What a jackass.

In April, CNN reported that Trump's travel to his private club in Florida has cost more than an estimated $20 million in his first 80 days in office, putting the President on pace to surpass former President Barack Obama's eight years of spending on travel -- in only his first year in office.

We pay for Obama's travel so he can fundraise millions so Democrats can run on lies. Then we pay for his golf.

The funny thing is that its the people that support him the most that he ends up hurting the most. Military families strongly supported Trump overall, probably still do.
"You have no idea how much crazy stuff we kill": The most common response centers on the urgent importance of having smart, sane people around Trump to fight his worst impulses. If they weren't there, they say, we would have a trade war with China, massive deportations, and a government shutdown to force construction of a Southern wall.
