Yah, I get that the Scorpion sometimes goes over the top with his posting. Part of it is learning, and part is because he's young and a little over enthusiastic. You can't deny guy is a passionate Flames fan. He's clearly not a troll. Why all the calls to get him banned? A little tolerance and understanding goes a long way.

I swear, CP gets all uppity and hostile for no good reason a lot of times. Not sure if it's just a bunch of grumpy dudes or what.

If you had legitimate inside sources, why would you be afraid to share? If they're who you say they are you wouldn't give a flying crap if people believe it or not.

I don't see why this kind of thing should dissuade anyone from sharing information they've received as long as it's clear up front how reliable the source is. If it can't be shared publicly, PM a mod.

TheScorpion posted something below even the Orange Julius level (some dude talking on the phone with his buddy at a food court) and made it sound like he had something legit, deliberately misleading people to get attention. That's a whole other ball game.

What I am talking about is the essential taking apart of some one's reputation when a rumor is posted. Huge number of PMs, questioning, and constant harassment if things don't turn out the way their source heard.

To be honest with all the scrutiny it really isn't worth sharing anything that doesn't come from a published source.

On the rare occasion that I have had some actual inside sources or legitimate knowledge is when I become most afraid to share.

At some point, The Scorpion was going to get this backlash (even though he already has). Many times he has been told to really filter his posts and every time he does something silly and apologizes. That is all okay in my opinion but this is not someone making a dumb mistake for the first time.

However, I do think if he is under 18, people need to cool down a bit.

Does that happen? I remember.mattyc got some good natured ribbing over his gaudreau info, and recently mmf got on timbits case for sharing something about his nephew, but I can't really recall much backlash against others.

Does that stuff happen to you? You don't seem to post much that isn't substantiated in some way and if you do I probably don't notice because you've built such a solid rep for accuracy and legitimacy.
