Pat is just a good dude, plain and simple. I don't understand why anyone would hate the guy. Pat's got a crazy work ethic and it's so nice to see the fruits of his labour. I used to sporadically call into overtime but haven't in more than 10 years because I moved to Europe.

Last year I called in near Christmas because I was up late during the holidays, lo and behold. Pat still remembered me, I have acquaintances that probably don't remember who the heck I am.

I'm just glad that Flames Talk is now a podcast so I can still listen to Pat on the other side of the planet.

Imagine doing a late night call in show after flames games. Now imagine how many times he has done that.

I would've got fired.

No kidding! I remember listening when Rob Kerr was doing them and had to stop after a couple of season cause he was getting short with callers. Not my guy Pat though.

Pat is the best

firm but fair...he isn't a homer but he isn't a hater either. Even in a world where hate often gets the most eyeballs.

"all Flames players demand trades out of Calgary!"

when the reality was nearly all of them wanted retirement contracts

Straight-up guy it seems...calls it like he sees it and not afraid to admit when he's wrong or off-base. Great discussions and thinks deeply about his craft. Always a fun listen, even in the middle of BC, LOL.
