Default I am staying at the Myrtles Plantation Wednesday night!

Off for vacation to Louisiana! We actually leave Monday night but we are taking a bus from Windsor Ontario and then with the layovers we don't arrive in New Orleans until Wednesday morning, damn long bus ride! Then my gf and I are renting a car and driving up to St. Francisville to stay for a night at what many call the most haunted house in North America, the Myrtles Plantation! I am a big paranormal buff so I am just giddy with excitement! Staying in the room that used to be the childrens nursery/playroom in the upstairs off the main house. People have reported hearing the children play at night, having their feet touched while trying to sleep, and waking up to having most of their stuff moved around. I hope all those things happen to us, my gf..not so much, lol. Then back to New Orleans to stay at our second haunted location, the Lamothe House for two nights. Then 4 more nights at what many say is the most haunted hotel in the French Quarter, The Provincial. Will be taking many pictures as well as a digital voice recorder to see if I can capture anything. Can't wait to party on Bourbon St too, can't argue with beer, beads, and boobies!

Beads and Boobies? That's February man!

Be careful. New Orleans, since Katrina, is by far the murder capital of the US.

Look forward to reading about your experiences staying in those places!

Thanks, yes I heard about all the crime and thanks for the heads up. We are sticking to the French Quarter and the Garden District as everything I read says that as long as you stick to those areas you should be safe.

One of my friends stayed at the myrtles with a few of her friends. They took a basic tape recorder, and picked up some crazy sounds. Never been to any of the haunted places myself.

When you are on Bourbon St, not sure how crazy it's going to be, but if you stay in the middle part you should be fine. One end of the street are the gay clubs, the other end is live sex shows. Make sure you go to Pat O'Brians and get a hurricane. Keep the glass. Pat O's is just off Bourbon St (towards the Mississippi).

Have fun, I have had a blast both times I have been there.

Yeah, I would think so. No impromptu tours of the 9th Ward!

I haven't been since I was 18 and I wasn't there in a party atmosphere. I wasn't a big fan of the city then. Wouldn't mind going back sometime in the future.

Also.. if you have time, check out the d-day museum. If I remember correctly, it's on Magazine Street. I believe it is south of the Quater.

Mind you, you could easily spend an entire day in that place. It is amazing.
