Couldn't you just have neither in your fridge? It's easy enough to buy a Nalgene bottle and refill it and keep it in the fridge.
Not directed at you - but even if you are out and about how much water does s person drink. A 1L bottle should provide sufficient nourishment for the day. There is no reason why bottled water is needed. It fills no void other than people's laziness in not being able to refill their own water bottle or "lug" it instead of being able to dispose of it when it's empty. Even the "using them camping" excuse it pretty lame. Maybe if you suck at camping.

Dion has said before that when he says he drinks bottled water, what he really means is that he puts tap water into bottles and that's what he drinks. A little odd, but the more you know...

I won't trust the drinking water at a campsite to be any good. There's no way they flush enough water to keep the quality high.

You can buy good size plastic containers which can hold plenty of home tap water for a camping trip.

Yeah, I agree I wouldn't trust campsite water except after boiling - but I was suggesting like what MattyC said, you can use the large water jugs to bring water from home.

Fair enough. I guess wording is a problem when trying to differentiate between bottled water and water bottles.

Yeah, I guess that's where convenience plays a bit of a role. You can get a crate of bottles at Superstore for pretty cheap. I'm not going to haul around a bunch of big, full water containers.

How is hauling around a flat of single bottles easier than a tank that is relatively the same size?
You can buy one for around the same price a single flat of bottled water.

Really? A big bulky tank, or a flat of bottles? I'm just going to assume you're just trying to be a contrarion here.

How big do you think this tank is? It can easily fit in the trunk of any car along with your tent, sleeping bags, pillows and pretty much anything else you need to camp.

I think he meant something like this, which isn't really a big bulky tank.

Found this just now too. 8.5 gallons (almost 3x the amount of water 24 flat of 550 ml bottles) and pretty much the same dimensions as the flat. Complete with wheels and a smiley face!

My brother-in-law buys 2-3 cases of water a week when my sister comes to visit me and I think it's a big waste of money considering North Vancouver is suppose to have some of the freshest water in Canada. I've told my sister that numerous times but I guess he's just used to it since water from the Saskathewan River is pretty dirty.

How much water relative to Nestle do the farms around hope and Guelph use?
From the globe article Ontaio uses 1.4 trillion litres per day and the bottled water companies use 20-30 million per day or a perverbial drop in the bucket.
Farmers don't pay anything for their water and consume .5% or about 700 million litres per day.

I think every city in the world believes their water is the best in the world. I've lost count how many cities and countries I have been to and they all claim their water is the best.

Nestle is the embodiment of every negative capitalist cliche, a corporation with no moral center that will ruthlessly do anything for a buck. It seems like a few times a year i discover a reason to never purchase nestle products (which is damn near impossible because they're a mega conglomerate who own a good chunk of the worlds companies).

They are also the primary cause of drought in California. It's a management issue.
The 20 million litres from Nestle is basically.
Watering Lawns (which also contributes nothing) is a far bigger concern.
