I've been waiting for this for a long time as the 2006 series loss to the Ducks kind of derailed the goodwill of the 2004 cup run. I feel if the curse in the Honda Center is ever going to be broken it's going to happen in the playoffs when the Flames last won a game there.

Having said that. I bet the Ducks wanted the Canucks to win the series. I wouldn't want to play Calgary. They never go away.

Ferland, Stajan, Jones vs Getzlaff, Perry and Kessler vs our top line.
Will be a good series.

I'm not afraid of the Ducks.
We're playing with house money now, and we're not supposed to be here. All the pressure is OFF.
We're not expected to win in Anaheim or at all.
If somehow we manage to win, it's huge mojo for us.
I'll take it. It's all gravy from here.

I have a strange feeling Ortio will make an appearance at some point.

It won't be long before Kesler and Beauchemin are public enemies #1 and #2 around here. Gonna be a physical series.

Thank God we have Ferland. I wish Bouma were healthy.

any word on Bouma or Diaz? Really need both of them right now.
I also think we're due for a couple of wins in Anaheim. We'll win game 1 there and steal game 2 in a stinker.

I've been pining for this match up since we won the Nov 18 game in OT at the dome. The ducks have been one of the best teams in the conference consistently for years now, and are a truly impressive and decorated group, but after that game I really started to believe that this version of the Flames had something extra inside that would make a 7 game series between the two stuff of legends. I don't know how I had that hunch so early on, but the Flames have kept overcoming trial after trial and aren't slowing down.
Really looking forward to this series and the surprises it will hold. I continue to have no expectations other than that this will be one more valuable experience in forging this team into a competitive group for years to come. Anaheim has been playing on the edge of a knife all year, perhaps on purpose as they handled an impressive Jets team easily, but I believe that the Flames represent a massive challenge for any team in th league right now. Really interested to see if Ferland will match up against Perry - wouldn't it be something to have some of Perry's compete level rub off on Ferly... Could be an epic series!

Karma took a bite out of Burrows. Now it's time to pay back Kesler and Perry. If there is justice in this world the Ducks lose and the loss can be squarely pinned on Kesler.

Chances are Wed/Fri or Thursday Saturday there. But who knows with TV schedules. I can see there being an extra day break in there somewhere, especially as Anaheim likes to host Sunday games in reg season.
