Don't forget, Stone's wife is from here, and they have new twins. He kinda wants to be here....
My best friend has twins. He works, his family is huge in helping his wife. Someone is there daily. I'm betting the hometown discount will be a real thing. Not outrageous but real.
Polak must have loved that goal differential today. Maybe he can cheer the #### up for once, after a drubbing of another hot team for the 7th win in a row, even breaking the curse of the afternoon games AND the Islanders.
I hope Brouwer is battling an injury or something, because he looks super "not good" out there. The entire team is hot and Brouwer looks like hot garbage. I hope he figures it out soon.

Aww geez--I had made a super-awesome post, including a wrestling reference just for you (which I knew you wouldn't get), and here you are, just posting now, some four hours after the game was over...
At any rate, I don't know that Brouwer was THAT bad today, but I get what you're saying. The more I think about his signing, the more I figure it had to be related to what he brings (a) in the dressing room and (b) (hopefully) in the playoffs.
How do you get these stats? Is there a site you can find the standings since a date?

There probably is a website that does it, but I don't know what it is!
On NHL.com/stats you can choose Sum Results Over Time Frame and select specific date ranges. Still can't figure out how to get records for exactly 50 games each, but you can choose the starting date to figure out each team's record.
The Flames are now through the easy part of the schedule.
Of the remaining 16 games, only 4 are against bottom feeders. 7 out of the other 12 are against elite teams like Montreal, Pittsburgh, San Jose, Anaheim and Washington. The remaining 5 are against Nashville, LA and Boston.
It is going to be a tough road. They need to continue to roll if they want to make the playoffs.
Not really. If they play .500 hockey from here on in they have like a 99% chance of making the playoffs.
Say they win 3 of 4 against the bottom feeders and then go a mediocre 5-7 against the better teams, they are good to go. Even that I have a hard time seeing considering how well they're playing. I'd say they're in a pretty damn good spot.
Smells like playoffs to me.

Well this takes care of my concerns over the last 6 games of the season against Cali teams. Looks like those will be strategy sessions against the Sharks and Ducks. Way to go Flames.
this site is also pretty interesting... i am not smart enough to know what everything means, but they chart % chances of each team based on other teams results on a graph after every night...
-Loving Ferland's fit on the first line right now. Other than his goal, he made an awesome pass up to Monny when Gaudreau missed the open net (high and wide). I'm really hoping he might turn out to be a kind of "Gary Roberts - Lite"...
Monahan (Nieuwendyk), Johnny (Makarov), Ferland (Roberts)... Wouldn't that be sweet!

I noticed in the fist bump line after Brodie's goal today that he just held out his glove for the bumps. In all likelihood he just had it off while taking a drink, but maybe it's hurt and he's trying not to aggravate it.
