Here's what you'll need:
1) Ikea RACKA curtain rod (70x120cm / 28x47"):
It also comes in white and silver but I prefer black. They cost $1.99.
2) A standard 1" binder clip (I put a measuring tape in the photo for reference):
3) A standard mug hook (I used a 1.25"); they can be purchased in the hardware section:
The beauty of the RACKA curtain rod is that it comes out of the package
at 27" (it is extendable), which is almost the exact width of a standard
NHL hockey jersey (shoulder seam to shoulder seam, size 56). I don't
have any Edge jerseys but I imagine the sizing is comparable.
Installation literally takes five minutes or less. Start by inserting the rod into the jersey:
Once it is centered, clip on the binder clip in the middle:
Pull both "prongs" down, and then rotate the rod so the prongs face upwards:
And presto -- your jersey is ready to hang! The mug hook screws right
into the wall (no anchor needed) and your jersey hangs nicely (the binder
clip securely holds the rod without tipping or shifting):
Finished product:
Comparable to other jersey display rods for a fraction of the cost. Enjoy!
