Sharks are really struggling. If the Flames are gonna clinch, tonight is the perfect opportunity. Come out strong, stick to your system, and make it happen!

Looks like Ferland might replace Brouwer on #Flames PP1...he's taking all the reps with Gaudreau, Monahan, Versteeg, Brodie. #SJSvsCGY

Two chances at clinching tonight. Well, technically 3 I guess.

1.) Flames win
2.) LA loses in regulation
3.) LA loses in OT, and Flames lose in OT

I prefer the 1st obviously, but at the end of the day, I'm ok if 2 or 3 happen too if 1 doesn't happen tonight. As long as we clinch, I'll be a happy man!

I wonder if Hamilton had like 50 goals he could maybe get a crack at first PP unit? Probably not.

Disappointed they didn't take care of business Wednesday but on the plus side I have tickets to tonight's game so hoping it gets done tonight. Going to need some booze to get through this one.

Hopefully the Dome treats the game like a playoff game. It was pretty quiet in there Monday and didn't sound too loud Wednesday (could be sportsnet' fault)

How many games has our pp looked good this season 20/76 ? If it doesn't get back on track Cameron should be fired imo. They way he lacks the ability to make changes is staggering. When it's struggling it takes him forever to change anything to try and kick start it.

It was definitely SportsNet's fault. When Hamilton score the Flames goal in the first period it was the loudest I have heard it in the Dome all season.

Really? cause it was decent but half the people didn't even realize it was a goal and remained sitting down... at least from the nosebleeds where I sit.

Sharks are crap right now. Flames need to take advantage of this opportunity to not only clinch, but avoid to avoid the Blackhawks. Avoiding the Ducks in the first round is ideal also, but not certain if they'll finish first or second in the division yet. Either way, best spot to aim for that's attainable is 3rd in the division.

Avoiding either of those teams would be perfect. But if we have to play one, I'd almost prefer the Hawks. Flames probably match up a little better against them. The Ducks just scare the hell out of me.

So as soon as Brouwer starts scoring on the pp....they want to take him off?

What makes Versteeg so special on the PP1?? He can't even play the off-wing for one-timers!

That is my thought as well, although the Oil are keeping up with the Ducks for first so who know how it will all play out. Too many possible combinations, especially if San Jose gets back on track.

GFG!

He's scored two goals off the rush on the PP. Possession-wise he has been poison all year on the PP, including as of late.

I just wish we had a winger with a really heavy shot on the PP. You watch some other teams and they blast one timers from the faceoff circle and it just seems our PP is hope a wrist shot from the blueline gets tipped or Johnny can pass it across for a tap in every time

I actually think Hamilton fits with the 3M PP line better.

Agreed just seems like a weird time to take him off. Versteeg also needs to come off the first unit.

The reason why they have Brodie with the first unit is because he is the best skater and they need him with only one defenceman on that unit.

Unit two is your more typical power play.

If anything, they should maybe just give Unit 2 some more power play time relative to Unit 1. They can keep things simple and that's usually how power plays get back on track.
