He was a great center and could finish what Gaudreau and Tkachuk gave him. One of my favorite lines of all time. Unfortunately, his play dropped off once the other two left. He will do good in Vancouver as the 2C, to either extend or gain value for his upcoming contract we knew we weren’t willing to give.

Great Flame. That 19-28-13 line was something special.

End of an era. Who would have thought Gaudreau, Tkachuk, and Lindholm wont be on the Flames less than 2 years after they were eliminated in the 2nd round.

Same for me, I wish him the best, but I’m happy he’s not signing long term.

Tremendous hockey player who will probably find his game again with the change/fresh start. One of my favorites in the last decade to be sure.
Wish him nothing but success except when he plays the Flames.

My 2 favorite deals of the Treliving era was the one that brought Hamilton here but the one that sent him away was my absolute favorite. This team badly needed a retool and reset after the Hamonic blunder and missing the playoffs. Flipping Dougie, Ferland and Fox for 2 former 5th overall picks aged 23 and 21 was amazing. Lindholm absolutely broke out here and became a star player. Amazing contract and I feel that trade pushed the Flames as close to contenders as they have been since the 04 run and year after the lockout.

I now like Vancouver a tiny bit more. I hope Elias finds success on the left coast.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

I'm not so sure he quit. I would guess the constant trade rumors' were probably on his mind and affecting his game. He clearly wasn't the same player this year.

May have mentioned in trade thread (not sure if post worked)
top 20 all time in Calgary Flames goals and points
14th in plus minus- ahead of him 11 guys from 89 and Gio and Musil (!) immediately behind him are his 2 famous ex-linemates, the current captain and the GM that just traded him- fine company

Great player - seemed like a great guy too.
Wish the team was in a place where keeping him made sense, but Calgary just isn't there right now.
Good move for both teams. Best of Luck to Lindy!

Don't care how much you hate BT, what a trade. Disenchanted Hamilton, multiple concussion Ferland, and Fox who wasn't going to ever play for Carolina, for two pure skaters and players with great contracts.
Lindholm is an excellent, smart, responsible player who can get a bit dirty, but needs very top end talent to get the most of him. He had that for a few years here but doesn't have the makeup of he's got to drive the line on his own. He will do well in Vancouver and get close to his expected payday come July.

He's leaving under good terms. Some players we can't wait to kick out, but lindy just needed a change scenery.
Good luck, bud.
