Pat Steinberg Appreciation thread!

On my drive home last night, Pat was saying he hasn't checked this website in probably a decade, as back then there was a lot of negative posts about him. Just thought we could maybe get him back checking regularly. By showing him some appreciation.

He is IMO the best broadcaster on that station. I always find Pats insight to be honest and truthful, he says it like it is. Even when talking about the same topics, he always seems to say it in a different way one day to the next. He is open to listening to anyone's opinion, doesn't get mad or argue. I have no idea how he tolerates some callers on his post game show!

I listened to Pat a decade ago, never had any complaints back then, at least I can't remember anything specific. With so many choices of things to listen too/watch these days, through podcasts, music, books literally anything. I do find myself constantly switching to the Fan 960 at 4:00 for Flames talk.

Definitely the best fan 960 personality at the moment and his dedication is unquestionable. Guy is a workhorse.

There's not enough time in the day for Pat to do all the jobs the FAN asks him to do, while also checking CP to see what the haters have to say.

We're lucky to have McLovin working at the Fan960. The guy takes equipment with him when he's on vacation from time to time in case there is breaking Flames news.

I've run into him a few times at Starbucks, and he's a super friendly guy to chat with too.

You gotta respect his work ethic. He's hustled his way up, from a squeaky-voiced teen, to basically being the steady rock of the entire station. Pat is the Fan960 now.

Flames Talk on Spotify is my go to listen whether I’m walking my dog, driving to work, or cleaning the house. Appreciate his insight and knowledge towards the Flames.

One thing I thought was cool during the Hanifin rumours; everyone was saying Lightening, Panthers or Bruins but he kept passively hinting at not forgetting Vegas whereas no one else picked that up.

True gem in Calgary broadcasting and has done a tremendous job as Rob Kerr’s replacement on Fan960.

I have always liked Pat! Years ago, when I saw people here bashing on him I wondered what I was missing. I paid closer attention to him and I discovered that I was missing nothing. Just a bunch of grumpy jerks who can spew hatred anonymously. While I'm not a member of any other online community I always felt that there was a subset of people on CP who are very negative towards individual media members. Some of those comments may be warranted but I feel that most are not.

It is very frustrating to find out that someone who could bring value to this community has refrained from taking part because of the negative jerks.
