The Quest stands upon the edge of a knife. Stray but a little, and it will fail, to the ruin of all. Yet hope remains while the Company is true. Go Flames Go!
I mean yeah it's probably still the most covered event of all-time, but when you see that Travolta hair do, Cuba Gooding as OJ, and Ross as the man who brought us the Kardashians, and it warrants at least a watch of the premiere

Interesting that this series, American Crime Story, seems to be a new ongoing one. First season will cover the OJ Simpson story, next year they're doing Hurricane Katrina.
This thing looks likes it's teetering on pure cheese with those wigs and cast but seems to be getting good reviews. People are still fascinated with the OJ Simpson case.
Don't have any reason to watch it, I would assume they're going to make the prosecutors look like boobs, the defense lawyers like brilliant sharks, we won't have a dancing judge Ito, OJ will cry a lot and we won't get the answer that we want
Did he cover up for the real killer, his son?

So I never heard of this thing before today, but caught the last three quarters. Agree that Cuba is decent, but Schwimmer and Travolta bring a bit of cheese factor. I'll give the writers a pass on some of the dialogue because I realize there is a lot to get through in six episodes, so they have to speed up the exposition. I wanted to turn it off, but it kept my attention enough to bring me back every commercial break, so I might watch it next week if I remember.
I was a little young when all of this went down in the 90s, so I really don't know much about the case other than the occasional pop culture references. I bet they went though a lot of trouble replicating memorable shots and events from the case, but it will all be lost on me.
Travolta was simply distracting, he looked more fake and plastic than the real Kris Jenner. Thought the Kardashian kid references were totally forced and unnatural, but otherwise it was pretty much as expected, trashy and enjoyable. Won't be anything groundbreaking but outside Travolta and Schwimmer we should get some good performances at least.

Like the "Simpson D.N.A." found in the Who Shot Mr. Burns episodes of The Simpsons. And "If the bra doesn't fit, you must acquit" episode of Seinfeld. And Johnnie Cochran on South Park with the "Chewbacca Defence".
So there is a whole lot to the story that I don't know, like why O.J.'s legal team kept rotating, and the bungling of the investigation and prosecution.
I thoroughly enjoyed it. I remember watching the Bronco chase live at a bar downtown when it happened, it was so frickin weird but super engaging at the same time.
Plus it was Friday so I'd had a few beers...

Speaking of that day, anyone that hasn't seen ESPN's 30 on 30 about that day should watch it. There was so much going on in the sporting world that day it was crazy. Great episode.

Maybe I'm typcasting Schwimmer, but I can't imagine him doing any type of dramatic role. I died laughing when I saw in him Band of Brothers. Sure, he did a good job of portraying somebody who couldn't do his role and inspire those under his command, but I just couldn't imagine the character making it so far in the military.
Schwimmer knows how to be a doofus. He is only meant for comedic roles.
