Flames recall Hathaway
https://www.nhl.com/flames/news/hath...ed/c-287914438
With Ferland in quarantine and Tkachuk suspended, Flames only have 12 forwards. Thus this recall to give them an extra body if they need it.
Unless there is an undisclosed injury/sickness to another forward, this would be the 2nd of 4 regular recalls

Better option than F. Hamilton. Matches the playoff intensity needed

Hathaway in? Flames win.
Bouma-Lazar-Hathaway would have some jam. Curious to see that.

I like this move. Bennett to play with Backlund and Frolik... and Hathaway to replace Bennett on the fourth line?

I think you have to.
Leaves the third line alone, the first line alone in it's new state, adds some skill to the Backlund line and hopefully gets Bennett going.

I was hoping a little for Janko but still happy with Hathaway.

The boys on the morning show touched on it a little bit today - the Freddie Hamilton situation is a strange one. He simply can't get into the lineup.
How long does he use up a roster spot to make sure that Dougie is comfortable?

Freddie Hamilton actually has looked serviceable, when he has played, and should rotate in through the lineup over the next 10 games.
The issue is whose spot does he take?
Bouma - Blocking Shots
Stajan - Faceoff/Veteran leadership.
Lazar - New face. Young guy with potential as well as bite to his game
Hathaway - Rough stuff. True grit.
Hamilton is like a swiss army knife. He is capable in different facets, but doesn't necessarily excel in any one. If he doesn't get any games, it would be even more difficult to improve.

With how they have refused to play Bennett at wing all season, I bet Bouma will play w Backlund and Frolik.

Tkachuk plays on the edge. Hathaway plays closer to that edge than Freddie H. Makes sense that they try to keep that edge in the game. Freddie is done with the team, he'll either be moved in the off season or start the year in the AHL, and likely spend the year there too.

I hope not. I would rather see Lazar or even Hathaway on that wing. We need a #### disturber. Bouma has done that in the past, but this year he seems more subdued.
Gaudreau - Monahan - Chiasson
Bennett (Lazar) - Backlund - Frolik
Versteeg - Stajan - Brouwer
Bouma - Lazar (Bennett) - Hathaway

Hamilton - Stajan - Brouwer
Those are the temporary lines I would roll out. I actually think Versteeg would fit well with Bennett and Lazar

Welcome back Hath!
As for Freddie H, we've now lost two energy guys from our lineup. Freddie is dependable but he really isn't an energy guy. I'm hoping for the return of the Hath!

As it has turned out they should probably have returned Rasmus after the emergency recall was done. Now they've used up two regular recalls and Rasmus hasn't played at all.

I really have no idea why Freddie is on the team. He basically seems like a warm body for practice purposes.
He doesn't bring jam, he doesn't bring scoring...what does he bring?

Apparently Washington Capitals making no changes to their lineup tonight, meaning Holtby starts in net, and Orpik plays Shattenkirk. They aren't taking the Flames lightly and rightly so.

According to Derek Wills on Twitter - Garnett Hathaway made the Flames morning skate.
