And Cecil, thanks for spoiler tagging in the Funny thread, I had a busy weekend and couldn't get to it until tonight. PVR's are the best thing to happen to F1. Appreciate it, even though it wasn't a major one! Cool clip though, I thought it was really neat when i watched it the first time.

I'm amazed CBC didn't spoil it for me with Lance, that was a major milestone for a Canadian.

I actually didn't spoiler it at first, not realizing the thumbnail showed the positions. Wasn't until I saw it on my pc I realized!

As for Lewis, I did read about the harvesting. His light was even flashing. Seb was definitely too close, trying to avoid getting caught out like he did on the first safety car.

Can't wait for Austria. Love the red bull ring. Great track in a beautiful setting.

Did his light flash? I watched for it, and didn't see it on the replays.

My co-worker is also into F1. At the start of the season we alternated picking a driver for each team, so he picked Lewis, I got Bottas, I picked Vettel, so he got Kimi etc...so we each get a driver for a team, and we total the points after each race. It's made it a lot more interesting to pay attention to inter-team battles. Watching this race around the red flag I looked down at the dropped drivers, and almost all were his. Excellent! I outscored him this time 73 to 28. The only race he has beaten me was Spain at 52 to 49. I've won all the others, and am up 94 points right now.

Anyway, if you can find someone else to play with next season it is a fun way to keep it interesting, and win some beers! I thought when he won the coin toss and grabbed Hamilton at the start of the year I'd be just along for the ride, but with Vettel stepping up it has not turned out as expected. And Bottas has helped me a lot too.

My drivers are Vettel, Ocon, Magnussen, Vandoorne, Bottas, Ricciardo, Palmer, Ericsson, Sainz and Massa.

Telemetry shows Hamilton did nothing wrong:

Love this track and love the setting, some of the best scenery of the season, but wow what a snoozer this race is. Whole lotta nothing happening.

Well, the last five laps were well worth it.

Hard not to like Ricciardo. Dude is hilarious. Love the reaction of Bottas to the shooey. Nope, nope, nope!

Interesting. There's a gif on reddit which clearly shows Bottas' tires moving while the lights are on but race control said telemetry says otherwise. Stewards not wanting to affect the championship again? Like they did with Bettel's Baku penalty?

Edit: ok fia has said he did move before lights went out but it was within their allowance.

Actually this clip shows it better. Isolates just the start.

And the article explaining it

Here's a slow mo clip showing how early he releases the clutch. Watch his left hand.

I'm not saying he should be penalized. I agree with the Sky team, it was basically on the edge of a perfect start without jumping it. But man it was close.

The last 10 laps were great, the rest was lacking excitement. Other than the start with Max and Fernando getting taken out. This has to be Kvyat's last year, right? He has totally lost it this season. It sucks seeing good drivers get speared in the first corner. Crazy how much the tires blistered, but good to see they held together.

I also just extended my point lead by 27 with the one, two three finish for my drivers. My co-worker is going to be grumpy about that one.

Just watching the end of P2, they are touring the garages. They showed the Red Bull wheels, and I was pretty amazed to see the wheel weights are just sticky weights with what looks like duct tape holding them on. Crazy that they stay on given the speed, and that given how high tech everything in F1 is, the solution is no different than a road car(+ duct tape).

What a race. So much good stuff. Poor Ferrari, no luck on that one.

Seemed to start rather well but after the first round of pitstops it seemed like very little happened for about the next 30 laps. The Verstappen Vettel battle was great but not much else other than that.

But just like Austria, don't turn it off early. Crazy ending. So much drama.

Ferrari need to get their #### together. Otherwise Ham and Bot are gonna run away with this thing.

9 of 10 teams voted against it but the FIA is forcing it thru on safety grounds.

I know the fia is an important regulatory body but I wish F1 could say eff off and just not do it.

Nobody wants it, teams or fans, and there have been so few head injuries that I don't see how they are justifying this. Except maybe to protect themselves in the Bianchi lawsuit. Or to avoid another one.

Shark fins and t wings were set to be eliminated. I thought maybe we'd be rid of the hideous thumb noses too. But nope. Let's make all the cars hideous by adding a stupid bar across the front of the drivers' faces. Barf.

Massa sick, Paul Di Resta in for Qualy having never driven the current model car and not having raced F1 since end of 2013 season. Exciting! I've always liked Di Resta.

Race was mildly interesting with the team dynamics. Two slower cars holding up team mates. Bottas with a podium thanks to good sportsmanship from Hamilton. Max dumb as per usual but still fast.
