Everything is just currently rumoured, and the list is going to change a hundred times over the course of the day, so don't make any bets or investments based on what's listed right now.

It will be funny during the awards ceremony in between awards, Bettman runs out and do his "We have a trade to announce" bit.

That one is the worst trade IMO - can't see it being true.
Islanders had to expose a good player regardless of them going 7-3-1 or 8-1.
Getting only a first to take on $9m in bad money, and pass on De Hann/Nelson etc sounds wrong to me.
If anything they still draft one of the good players from the Islanders, and then also take on a 1st for Kulemn/Grabovski separately.

Vancouver talking heads are sure bitter about the expansion draft and the quick realization that the Vegas Golden Knights will be in a position to compete for a Stanley Cup long before the Canucks ever get another chance.

Of all the firsts being traded the Isles first is the best. Both Grabovski and Kulemin have 1 year left on their deal. Maybe there is more to it but it's still a rumour out there

NHL network radio just confirmed Fleury is on a flight to Vegas, as per the pilot.

Yeah but you have to pay for taking the bad contracts and not taking a good player.
Nelson: 45 pts
Strome: 30 pts
De Haan: 25 pts
Josh Bailey: 53 points
All those players probably can get you a pick in the 15-20 range if you were to draft them and then flip them. So avoiding picking one of them, and also taking on 2 bad contracts should cost way more than just the 15th overall.
Personally if the Flames traded 16th overall for one of those players I would have no issue with it.

The rumour that their taking BOTH Kulemin and Grabovski is likely false. Either that or they must be adding a top prospect. Either way it's obvious the NYI deal has not been leaked fully and completely

Brower is now placed on IR for being allergic to goals. Doctors are prescribing a heavy dose of intangibles to battle this symptom.

I was thinking about this, all of these teams making protection deals or side deals for Vegas to take on bad players or contracts, where are we in all this?
Dont get me wrong, I'd like to see Brouwer skate to the moon, but you'd think Treliving would be actively trying to improve his own team while the getting is good.
At the same time, is the Brouwer contract so odorous that Treliving would consider sweetening the pot a little? Perhaps add a draft pick in exchange for LV to guarantee they take Brouwer? I dont think that it is, I suspect that if LV dont take Brouwer Treliving will be fine with that.
And if they do take Brouwer they'd be doing us, a Division Rival, a favour.

I've been saying Brouwer, but it does seem less likely if the other rumours are true and they are picking up salary for picks/prospects. I think is still possible Brouwer is picked, as they might view him as a bounce back candidate, and perhaps they want some contracts lasting beyond next year. But it seems more likely a Chiasson as a cheap roster spot is more likely. Maybe Bouma.
Edit: And I would add, BT should not add a sweetner for Vegas to pick Brouwer. We don't absolutely need the cap relief (although it is always helpful) and we are not at risk of losing anyone particularly valuable.

Well I definitely don't want to watch the awards show so it looks like CP and F5 are the way to go tonight!

There are few things in this World that are more onerous and depressing than an NHL Awards show. I'll be avoiding that like the plague.

I suspect that at this early stage VGK is likely not all that concerned about how much their draft decisions impact divisional rivals. They will do what is best for them.
But I tend to agree about everything else. I don't think Vegas will select Brouwer, and I am quite sure Treliving is not so desperate to be rid of Brouwer's contract that he is willing to send a pick their way to ensure that it happens. I continue to maintain that Brouwer will be better next year, and that will be good for the Flames.

Chaisson depends on whether they want to use one of their 10 available RFA/UFA picks on him.
I'm not terribly upset if Brouwer stays. If he is healthy, with an axe to grind, he could easily become a player worth something like his salary. Brouwer playing well is probably better than Chiasson playing well.
If they go Kulak, that doesn't fuss me at all. I'd like to keep Shinkaruk though. I think he can make it.
