So far, looks like Spiderman is getting some good reviews - 93% on RT with 80+ reviews in already.

I don't know where else to put this.

Condolences to Stan Lee. His wife of 69 years, Joan Lee, passed away this morning.

Took the family to Spider-Man this morning. The boys 8 & 9 loved it. So did my wife and I. Lots of humour, heart and great action. I thought the trailers might have spoiled too much but they didn't.

Spider-Man was awesome, easily the best big screen adaptation of him. Maguire was a good Peter Parker, Garfield was a better Spider-Man, but Tom Holland is the best at both. Michael Keaton was also awesome as Vulture, one of the best villains in the Marvel universe alongside Loki, and

Spoiler!

Disney announced/confirmed/updated information on a lot of their upcoming films today.

Spoiler!

Now that Disney owns Star Wars and Marvel, plus Pixar and their non-Pixar animated stuff, D23 is getting to be almost as big as Comic Con for upcoming movie info.

6 Marvel films; 3 Star Wars films; 2 Pixar sequels and 1 Pixar original; 2 Disney Animation sequels; 3 "live-action" adaptations of previous Disney animated films; 2 adaptations of old stories; 1 sequel to a Disney classic; and 1 untitled film from the division of the company that usually does the cheap direct-to-video sequels.

21 films coming from Disney in the next 2 and a half years and there's only one that isn't based on something that came before (Coco).

That also doesn't include the live-action Aladdin that was confirmed today. Will Smith will be playing the Genie.

I'm gonna go ahead and give Spiderman homecoming a perfect 10. Absolutely amazing, loved it one of my favourite Marvel movies.

Spiderman was very good.

Maybe because I had low expectations.

But it was fun.

One thing I didn't like about Spider-Man was his super high tech Iron Man-esque suit. Doesn't really fit with the character.

War for the Planet of the Apes was fantastic. It might be my favourite movie of the year so far. Slightly ahead of Get Out, Logan and Spider-Man for me.

I really loved the first two, so this one capped off the trilogy perfectly.

If they don't win every specific effects award possible it'll be a travesty. The animators and motion capture guys lived up to all the Oscar hype they've been receiving. The "performances" by the apes were better than any acting I've seen in a long time.

Not nearly as cool, but with good writing and characters could be good. Effects already look bad.
