To me, the Leafs D is just okay, their goaltending is questionable. But way more than that is they don't have that powerforward up front. Matthews refuses to get dirty, and as your number one guy getting paid that much he has to. Marner turns to a mouse in the playoffs and it shows. To me, Tavares has been a beast for a few years now. Old man has never had the wheels but he comes to play each playoffs and produces. They're really lucky to have him. He'll be taking a deal when his salary comes off the books next year and Tre will have $11M to make some nice upgrades. But in the meantime to me it's apparent they have to deal Marner. Him and Matthews are chummy and any there have been rumours of the team being cliquey. He hasn't shown up and he could bring back some very nice value on their back end which they could use.

Domi is small burt,Reaves yes but majority of the roster has skill not much grit.

Marner, Tavares, Matthews, Reilly and Nylander all have NMC's.
They will decide if their is a trade among them or not and they very well may want to continue as the core one more season minimum, BT can do little about it.
It is not a great position for BT right now and gonna get real ugly if they lose to the Bruins in round 1 yet again.
