I doubt Bieksa fights because he's a fake tough guy.

But I hope Ferland doesn't give him a choice, like Bieksa didn't when they "fought" last time.

I'm curious to know what happened to them, they were the front runners as a stanley cup contender for this year.
I haven't watched any games but i'm going to guess it's because they added too many idiots over the past two years, in particular, Kesler and Bieksa and the chemistry is all wacked.

I can't even imagine how weird that must be for guys like Getzlaf, Perry, Maroon (who fought those guys lots) to hate those two for so long and then have to deal with them on the same team.

And this year with Bieksa there, you have to think Kesler has taken on more space in the room and walking around with more swagger.

I'm still baffled by the Ducks decision to trade for Bieksa, extend him, and get rid of Beachemin for pretty much the same salary and term. Canuck fans were jumping for joy when they got anything for Bieksa.

He does spot pick, but he is a pretty good fighter. You can tell he's trained in boxing from how he throws hooks. Ferland will have to be careful and not get caught while getting in. Bieksa likes to fake a hook on one side and then nail you with the other hook, that's how he got Gio when they fought. If Ferland can close the distance fast, he should do ok. Ferland has been caught before in junior by rushing into a fight so he needs to be careful.

It's because Hudler has been in the league for the duration of the curse. Hartley be superstitious. We're waging a war with the supernatural here, need to take all necessary measures.

On another note..how on earth has that roster scored 38 goals this year?

End the curse Raymond! Some people might love you again!
If there's any possibility for him to redeem himself within this fan base, this is it.

Nope. I hate seeing guys get jumped on like that. No matter who it is. If two guys are gonna duke it out, I want it to be spur of the moment hatred, I want them to jostle a bit, square off, and go.

Guys that jump in and start pummelling before the other guy can react, like Bieksa did last year, are cheap shot artists.

Phone alerted me that Hudler is out with illness still. Not a healthy scratch.

From CBS (take that for what it's worth):

Quote:
Hudler returned to practice Monday after missing Friday's game against Chicago, but didn't take part in normal line rushes, indicating he still hasn't fully recovered from the illness.

Head coach Bob Hartley told reporters Tuesday that he wants to give Hudler a few more days to recover from the flu.

Although Hudler won't suit up for Tuesday's contest, Hartley's statement indicates the 31-year-old winger should be ready to return to action Friday against the Coyotes.

Mason Raymond will continue to skate alongside Sean Monahan and Johnny Gaudreau on Calgary's top line in Hudler's absence.

Been watching them quite a bit as I stacked Ducks in my fantasy pool (lol)

Perry has looked good. But he keeps hitting posts. Can't catch a break. Just snake bit, not going in for him.

Getzlaf looks lost, slow, out of it. Just not there. Doesn't look like an elite player in the league.

Kesler looks bad. Bad. Out of position, can't carry the puck into the zone without getting stripped, plays die on his stick. He takes dumb frustrated penalties. Still crushes faceoff wins though.

Bieksa has been not good, but not horrible either. Mediocre. Which for the ducks right now is like 'wow he's good'

Vatanen is still going all offense. Hell of a shot. Most deadly thing on the PP still. Look out for that. Defensively, he's not great.

Andersen was stellar earlier in the season. Stellar. He was standing on his head every game and they were still losing. His game slipped a bit recently but he was still playing well IMO. So we catch a break getting Khudobin (who has also been decent, not amazing, but gives them a chance to win).

The ducks have been getting thoroughly outplayed in the games I've seen. Running around in their own zone. Giving up tons of quality chances/shots. They break out, hit the opposition blue line, and turn it over. Spend the next 40s in their zone chasing the puck.

They remind me....of us. But I think we've started looking better every game. Ducks have not progressed. Every game they look the same as the one before. And now their tending has started to fail too. They look broken and confused.

So tonight either

A) we take it to them, and pounce on their current broken state. Easy win. Break the curse. Flames keep rolling, look out!

or

B) we do what we do best...slump bust them. Perry and Getz get going, and Khudobin stands on his head, and the Ducks finally start looking like their old selves.

I'm cautiously optimistic it'll be A

Thank you very much for the correction. I have been using this schedule link for the past month.
http://www.indemand.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/NHL_10.22.pdf

The Senators-Stars game was switched to the NHL Network in the USA. That is why the Flames-Ducks game channels have been changed.

To be fair all of the guys on the Fan said he looked completely normal at practice yesterday, didn't seem to be laboring at point and the flu is something that many people play through

This could be a a great test to Hartley's "Always Earned, Never Given" philosophy. Should Raymond have a strong night and we see Hudler back in his place, then I won't believe it anymore.
