I want the brighter evenings all year round. Where do I sign?
I think a lot of people are making the assumption that we would permanently stay on DST if this ever happened, but isn't it possible the elimination of DST leaves us on MST time year round? which would absolutely suck.

I believe the NDP's bill has us on MDT year round, which is actually CST.
1. - Do the same as the rest of NA and stick with Current DST system
2. Do the same as the rest of NA and go to permanent DST.
.
.
3. Keep Current System even if rest of NA changes (either to permanent daylight or standard)
4. Go to permanent DST, even if rest of NA goes to permanent standard time
.

.
5. Go to permanent Standard time along with the rest of NA
.
.
6. Go to permanent Standard time apart from what rest of NA does.
In short - Current System is slightly better than permanent Daylight time, both of which are much better than permanent standard time. Doing what the rest of NA does is more important than what we do for time changes, unless the rest of NA goes to permanent Standard time, then we should not do what they do.
This is what it feels like to have an NDP government. You feel like you 'won' something by them electing to not change things for the worse from the status quo.

Of note, the committee recommended that the government work with other jurisdictions on the possibility of doing it country or continent wide, which makes a hell of a lot more sense.
