I've missed a bit as well, so far he is talking about how he was walking through the crowd last night asking fans how they feel about the team and everything going on. Said even though they don't talk about what they are working on doesn't mean they are not trying to make moves behind the scene

Most of the first part was on realignment, now it is on to "I feel your pain about the Flames losing", but they are considering lots of things and thinking all the time about improving the team.

"We do our jobs, we let them do their jobs. Our definition of meddling would be, would we stop someone from doing what they wanted to do or force someone to do something they didn't want to, but that never happened."

First part was about the re-alignment. Nothing special. Attempted to put to bed the Meddling from ownership rumors. A bit of kissing babies and shaking hands in the latter part of the interview. We appreciate the fans and thank them for being patient...yada yada.

Is this a response to Keenan?

Has there been any response to the O'Reilly debacle?

He specifically said the Flames will not disclose their plan publicly during the interview.

So you think they should lay out their plan for you? Maybe just publish it for the whole league to see? thought maybe KK would just blurt that out to Steinberg?

Code for no plan. Stay the course.

Seriously tho I don't expect to hear anything of value from KK. Just the usual PR.

Ken King sounds a lot more like a greasy sales guy than he used to.

What I got out of it:

- Thinks based on body of evidence they have (from being in the crowd games) that the fans are supportive, love the way they’re playing, the style of play, and the effort. The fans feel a sense of grimness but are supportive.

- While things with management may seem quiet from an outside view, there is lots going on behind the scene.

Message to fans is:
- Patience
- Gratitude for loyalty
- Thinks Flames fans are the most optimistic in the world
- Understand that the plan they have is not for public discussion
- Nobody should believe that there is no discussion taking place within the organization

- Denied any meddling has/is going on. They have never stopped anyone from what they’re doing, or forced anyone to do something.

- They are working hard to get this right (pretty sure this has been said word for word multiple times over the past few years)

It was an interesting interview, you could definitely tell who butters the FAN's bread, Ryan was tip toeing around even talking about the on ice product at first and they did not bring up the O'Reilly thing at all.

No, not sure why i wrote the 2nd half of my post. I am sick and tired of management and ownership throwing out lines about how other teams rebuild took so long, or that they are working hard behind the scenes. Every team is working hard behind the scenes.

Not much evidence of a plan other than to become really soft and have 2 NHL centers on the roster.

Well the product he was selling before was better, so you don't have to do the sales job too much. Now he's trying to sell a used Yugo. Things change.

Joe Sports would've never allowed this to go unaddressed with King on the line.

In fairness, I think its in response to CP... today, a few people mention there is no news from Flames management for 14 days ("silence period") ... an hour later, KK hits up the local Flames radio and covers some of the hot topics on CP. KK is just being a firefighter here... an interview for a sake of interview, doesn't sound like he has anything to really say.
