I saw a show on how much time Doan does public speaking in the Phoenix area, and I could see him moving on from playing, and running for public office or something. maybe Sheriff.

I don't see him retiring, unless he can't find a spot on a playoff team. Take one last run at a cup. Then retire and try and build hockey in Phoenix.

I could see him (Doan) going to Nashville if he chooses to play another year.

He will retire. God forbid he should have to move away from his ponies for any reason.

Craig Morgan @craigsmorgan
Shane Doan's agent Terry Bross: "Shane is ready to enter the free-agent market & see where it goes. Time for him to get a shot at the Cup."

Well I am actually shocked. Hopefully he goes out East so we don't have to see his dirty antics as often.

Taking a while to get to 5000

Time for him to get a shot at the cup? Didn't he refuse this opportunity the past few years at each trade deadline?

If Bouwer is taken by Vegas, I'd support signing Doan to a cheap 1-year contract.
He could start on the top line, or help mentor a young centre like Jankowski.

His shot to go after the cup was 5-6 years ago. It's his time to retire now.

I'd much rather have Jarome. No need for Doan here.

All jokes aside, does anyone know what his relationship with Smith is like?
If they're good buds, it wouldn't shock me to see him get inked here on a 1 year deal.
Ties to Treliving/Maloney/Smith, he's an Alberta boy, and the Flames like big heavy, physical two way players. Flames are an up and coming team with a more than realistic shot at playoffs and more next season.
You gotta think he'd be just as hungry as Smith and might find another gear if pulled out of a toxic losing environment.
Anyways, wouldn't shock me if it happened, ESPECIALLY if Brouwer gets pulled from here by Vegas.

Too slow for the top line (slower than Brouwer). And how is he going to mentor a centre better than, say, Stajan or Backlund?

Jarome doesn't want to come here...not saying we should want Doan but the two of them have nothing to do with each other
I would rather have Crosby

Gaglardi should sign his Blazers co-owners Doan and Iginla to play in Dallas next season.
