I don't understand how anyone could not like pineapple on pizza, hamburgers, subs, etc.

So good.

I can understand people not liking it. We all have different tastes. What I can't understand is how emotional some people get about it to where it's become an internet thing. I've even read comments where people have said he ruined pizza. No, he made a combination that you don't care for. There's many combinations out there that people don't care for.

I have not been able to stop crying since I read this news as it rocked me mere hours after reading about adam west's passing. I want 2017 to end today as it has been a horrible year and I am tired of going to funerals, wearing black and I was run out of personal days at work and used up all my conselling from my EAP program.

I'm just not a pineapple fan in general, but for some reason, on pizza it really works for me. With non-Neapolitan pizza's, it's my go-to flavor.

Rest well, pineapple pizza genius.

I love complainers about Hawaiian pizza. "Sweet and savory? Omg, that's an affront to pizza and cooking!!! "

But then they love teriyaki and every other sweet/savory Asian food combo. Even BBQ sauce or 1000 Island on a burger makes it sweet and savory.

Hawaiian is awesome.

Either you like Hawaiian pizza or you don't. But if you don't you make sure you act like a giant dink and let people know that you are the authority when it comes to what tastes good on Pizza.

I love pineapple, like eat it until my mouth has canker sores, but I hate warm pineapple, in all its incarnations (sweet and sour pork comes to mind).

I wonder if they held off putting the pineapple on till after it that would change my mind.

mmm, grilled pineapple! Shake some slices in a bag with brown sugar and cinnamon. Grill about 5 minutes each side. So so good.

Pineapple on it's own chilled is great, with ice cream would be very good also.

On pizza? Get the f out of here.

I'd think pineapple would also go well with the chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry flavours on a Neapolitan pizza too.

A dude was arguing on CBC a few weeks ago that pizza is a sandwich.

Bread dough. Savoury. Nutritionally complete.

Those are the criteria that in Drew Brown's view, make pizza a sandwich.

"It's a long and convoluted and counter-intuitive argument, but ultimately pizza is a type of hot open-faced sandwich, primarily because the base of the pizza is a bread dough. As we reconstructed a taxonomy of sandwiches, pizza qualifies as a hot open-faced sandwich."

Adding the pineapple, makes it not a sandwich?

No one makes a sandwich on dough though. Now, if you use a pre-made crust, I could get the argument. But on raw dough? Not a sandwich,

It is. Goes great with pork chops, or chicken, or on its own.

The way that pineapple softens up when warm is the best part. I also love cooked apples and bananas for the same reason (wouldn't put those on pizza t though).

Hawaiian pizza is great. The way the citrus and sweetness compliments the cheese grease and sweetness from the ham is what does it. If an extra tangy tomato sauce is used, it's fantastic.

We have all sorts of foods that combine sweet and savory. Relish is a condiment that does almost exclusively that.
