Big blow, she was a strong female icon in her day and a real good story of her ability to come back from the brink. That really sucks, I'm glad she got to do Episode VII as I know from interviews it meant a lot to her to go back with the old crew after conquering her demons. I wonder if she got to film for Episode VIII at all?
I'd love to see a Leia origins movie of her time playing a double agent for the Rebels leading up to A New Hope. And she should be played by Macie Williams.

Like others have said, this one hurts. She gave women an action figure. Not only on screen, but off screen as well, she was a bad ass woman. She spoke her mind. She went through the ringer and came out on the other side. She did it all with humility and style! She also got to have some sexy fun with a hot, young Harrison Ford. What is not to love and admire about all that?

"One of the things that baffles me (and there are quite a few) is how there can be so much lingering stigma with regards to mental illness, specifically bipolar disorder. In my opinion, living with manic depression takes a tremendous amount of balls. Not unlike a tour of Afghanistan (though the bombs and bullets, in this case, come from the inside). At times, being bipolar can be an all-consuming challenge, requiring a lot of stamina and even more courage, so if you're living with this illness and functioning at all, it's something to be proud of, not ashamed of.
They should issue medals along with the steady stream of medication."

Loved her from the age of seven. I was smitten the second she was on the screen in A New Hope. Had tears of joy watching her in The Force Awakens. Something about that original cast.
She had her demons, but she was a tough cookie. Love you, Carrie Fisher. Thanks for everything.
