Best One Hit Wonder of the '00s...
I remember "Crush" by Jennifer Paige being huge, but looks like that was a '98 song. Maybe the radio stations finally stopped playing it in 2000.
I liked "Blue", until I saw the video, and I hated it ever since.

They only had two albums and five singles. They were more of a "project" anyway. Cee-Lo and Danger Mouse had released material as solo artists before and continued to after.
Cee-Lo also had hit songs as apart of Goodie Mob and was featured in at least a couple by OutKast.

Butterfly was #1 in March of 2001, so I think it qualifies.

2 Legit to Quit and Pray were top 10 hits too. In fact Pray charted higher in both Canada and the US than U Can't Touch This

Also, as terrible as they were, Smash Mouth had 3 hits.
A lot of conflating the 90s with the 00s in here. Your minds getting fuzzy in old age eh?

Possibly... <.< >.>
It also seems that '99 was the year of the one hit wonders.

That's not how this works. That's not how any of this works.
I feel like Baha Men has been uncontested so far.

You can pretty much attribute that to it being "When Doves Cry" with Hammer rapping religious lyrics over top of it.

Though from 97 I think this is one of my favourite one hit wonder songs.

I still remember them getting banned from the Calgary Stampede. I thought it was a great show watching parents dragging their kids away with red faces of anger when they learned that Len wasn't really a happy pop band, but a hardcore techno rap. I think that Len probably lost money at the Stampede with the fining system of $500.00 per swear. In 15 minutes they probably fired out about 100 fbombs and other miracles of modern English.
I guess it pays to do your research when you hire a band.

Mambo number 5 has to be considered. But released in 99 too.
Best of all time though? Come on Eileen, Dexys Midnight Runners
